Great little spot. Easy for kids to eat. Soup is good. Good amount of chicken and the rice has good retention of chicken flavor. Try all the sauces for sure. Jabanero is a must.

3 stars. A chain restaurant it seems. Basic chicken menu . We had 3 originals and 1 veg without rice. Clean and plain chicken, that’s where the ginger sauce comes in. Simple and basic light lunch. No frills. As always post wherever your palate takes you.

I’ve had Hainanese Chicken Rice in so many different places, but imagine my surprise to get one so pure, clean and delicious as the one at the little Rooster & Rice Pleasanton location! The plate was ready almost as soon as I finished paying, and the quality was out of this world! Tender, succulent chicken, fragrant and savory rice, super clean broth, and the dipping sauce was addictive. I only wish we had one of these in Monterey, CA!

I had the pleasure of dropping by this little hole in the wall going home and man do I regret not finding this place sooner. Its rather small but the smells coming from inside were amazing. I ordered the original, which had the chicken and rice with this amazing garlic and ginger sauce and a side of veggies.
You won’t regret coming here. The flavors were absolutely perfect and the containers they store the food in is environmentally friendly.

A little shop in the stripe serving skinless moist chicken over rice. Comes with sauce and soup for take out. The chicken is not gamey which is big plus for me. Healthy choice. It’s refreshing over fried/oily food. I only wish they gave a little more veggie and sauce or ask if we’d like some sauce over the rice. I found the sauce not enough for my chicken and rice but still delicious. Would def return when around the area.

Absolutely delicious, I practically inhaled my serving of chicken rice. Similar to hainanese chicken rice or singapore chicken rice, the thai chicken rice features moist chicken over fragrant chicken rice, slices of cucumber, topped with cilantro and comes with a side serving of chicken broth and mixed soy sauce condiment. The soy sauce mix contains minced ginger and bean. The basic chicken rice serving is $10.95 with a mix of dark and white meat, if you request all dark meat, it will cost $1 extra. The place only seats 12, so it is mainly a take-out place. There are health conscious options such as tofu and brown rice. I think i can eat this twice a week.

We stubbled upon this place by chance and we love it. The food is not only healthy feeling but tastes so good. We like that is not over seasoned and that they offer brown rice. We’ll be back for sure many times when we pass through the area.
