Went on a busy Friday evening and they still managed to accommodate our group of three, which already set a good tone. Ordered the fish carpaccio along with a martini and an old fashioned — drinks were mixed really well, and the food had that clean, flavorful Nobu signature.

The vibe on the rooftop is immaculate: warm lighting, great energy, and that relaxed-but-upscale feel. Staff was genuinely understanding and easy to talk to, never rushed us and made the whole experience comfortable.

A solid spot for a night out when you want good drinks, good sushi-style plates, and a beautiful setting.

Nobu rooftop is located on top of the hotel in West Loop, which is very convenient, if you stay in the hotel. There is also a restaurant on the 1st floor. Not sure if there is a parking for those who is staying in hotel, but it was pretty hard to find parking nearby on the street, probably on weekdays it’s easier.

Rooftop is very nice, it has tables for 2 and for company of people. We’ve tried sushi, few cocktails and mochi on dessert, everything was tasty. I didn’t like mochi a lot though, I would try different dessert next time. There is also a good music and nice view on downtown.

Visited Nobu Chicago and had a mostly great experience with a few hiccups. When we arrived, the management was hesitant to seat us, even though plenty of tables were available — which was a bit frustrating.

That aside, once we got seated, everything improved. The service was excellent and the staff were friendly and attentive.

Food-wise:
• The shrimp dish was delicious, cooked just right.
• The variety of sushi was impressive — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated.

One of the best parts was the rooftop view of Chicago — a stunning atmosphere that adds a lot to the experience, especially in the evening.

Overall, a solid 4-star experience. Great food, wonderful ambiance, and service — just wish the front desk had been a little more welcoming from the start.

Nabu Rooftop has some of the best views in Chicago — the skyline backdrop and overall rooftop atmosphere are definitely the highlight. It’s a great spot for sunset drinks or a fun night out, and the vibe feels stylish and lively without being over the top.

The food, though, is just okay. The sushi and small plates are fresh and nicely presented, but nothing really stands out or feels memorable, especially for the price. It’s good, just not impressive or worth going out of your way for if you’re expecting an exceptional meal. Portions also feel a bit small for what you’re paying.

Drinks are probably the safer bet here — cocktails are creative and pair well with the setting. Overall, I’d come back for the views and drinks, not the food. It’s more of a rooftop bar experience than a destination for great sushi.

Great summertime Chi Rooftop Happy Hour!

Beautiful rooftop with indoor and outdoor dining. A few shaded areas with couches and high top seats. Great variety on happy with with bites and drinks.

Wagyu Sliders 10/10: Chefs kiss! Ordered per slider, trust me get at least 2!
Salmon Dry Miso: 10/10 great flavor and fresh
Brussels: 10/10 nice and crispy. Not soggy. Great flavor.
Will be back for great views, good and service any time!!

We visited the rooftop on a Saturday with a reservation for outdoor seating in a perfect evening. However, we ended up being seated near the bar, which was disappointing. Regrettably, the view, ambiance, and menu also didn’t live up to our expectations. The one redeeming feature was the miso black cod, an exquisite and tender delight amidst an otherwise lackluster meal. After spending over $200 on food and drinks, we found much better satisfaction next door with a bowl of ramen.

One tip: avoid the hotel’s valet service for dinner, as the $35 charge is significantly higher than others in the area.

Great view, charming décor, good service and food. The only downside is the cocktails — not worth the price and should be revisited by the bar.

Everything I had was was delicious. I was not wowed by anything, but definitely satisfied with my meal. I’d love to return to try more items, and of course eat on the first floor.

During tanoshi hour, we had the lychee/elderflower martini and the market margarita. Oh bothhhhh of these were so good. 10/10. I’d order either of those again without question. For food we had the crispy okra, oyster trio, karaage chicken, and yellowtail jalapeño roll. All very good! The chicken was probably my favorite. Not the best karaage ever, but very tasty.

There are better (cheaper) options for HH in Chicago, but this was definitely a nice way to sample some of NOBU’s dishes without breaking the bank and enjoy the city views. It wouldn’t be my first pick for HH, but I’d certainly go back and try more dishes.

Throughly enjoyed sampling the new rooftop menu! Cocktails were beyond my imagination. Chef Daniel Rakestraw thoughtfully explained each dish to our table of four. Views & vibes were a 10!

Went with my sister. The view really good.

The rooftop restaurant has a more minimal menu than the main menu but it was a great experience. The Sashimi tasted fresh. The Wagyu presentation was beautiful! The star for me were the lamb chops. Absolutely delicious.

The cocktails were cold and mixed well. Definitely reserve if you’re going on a weekend possibly even happy hour.
