Reviews
If you’re looking for a hidden gem with great views, you absolutely have to try the Rooftop Tavern in Morrison, Colorado. This place hits all the right notes for a perfect outing.
The service was impeccable—our drinks were served promptly and were spot-on. We shared the antipasto, and it was genuinely delicious, easily one of the highlights of the menu.
The atmosphere truly elevates the experience. Even on a cool day, the warmth from the fire bar made the outdoor seating cozy and inviting. Topping it all off, of course, is the view of the surrounding area and landscape. It makes this tavern the ideal place to relax and unwind.
It’s clear the Rooftop Tavern is a place that takes pride in its food, service, and location. It’s not just a stop; it’s an experience you’ll want to repeat. Go for the drinks, stay for the antipasto, and soak in that incredible scenery. Highly recommended!
The rooftop ambiance is delightful, with ample seating, plush pillows, fire pits, and eclectic chandeliers. Dormant vines adorned the space during our visit, hinting at the lush greenery and vibrant colors they’ll bring in the spring and summer.
Since we visited during off-hours (around 2 PM), the bartender also served as our waiter. He was prompt and attentive, taking our drink and food orders efficiently. While the appetizer menu was a bit limited for sharing, we opted for two flatbreads, which were the perfect size for a light lunch for four.
Overall, the Roof Top Tavern is a charming and casual spot with reasonable prices. I look forward to returning, especially to experience the rooftop in full bloom during the warmer months.
Not to mention the view!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Spicy, scenic, and seriously satisfying.
Let me start by saying this rooftop view is so majestic it made me briefly consider quitting my job and becoming a full-time mountain enthusiast (until I realized that would cut into my meatball budget).
We kicked off our meal with the Italian Nachos—which, fair warning, are spicier than a love affair gone wrong. These things come smothered in Calabrian chile cheese sauce, sausage, banana peppers, and regret (the good kind). I ate one chip and immediately got flashbacks to every time I thought I could handle “medium” salsa. 10/10 would cry again.
Next up: the Antipasto Board. This thing rolled up to our table looking like it had just come from a magazine shoot. Meats, cheeses, veggies—all laid out like a Pinterest board had a delicious baby with a deli counter. It was giving “classy picnic on a yacht” energy.
Now the meatballs—oh, the glorious meatballs. I don’t know what magic Nonna is back there stirring in the kitchen, but these were juicy, tender, and swimming in marinara that tasted like it had stories. I’d name my future child after these meatballs. Sorry, Greg.
I didn’t try the Firecracker Flatbread, but just the name makes me think it could fight me—and win.
Anyway, if you’re hiking Red Rocks and need to restore your soul and taste buds, climb one more level up to this rooftop gem. Bonus tip: drink a cold one with your Italian Nacho meltdown and bring tissues—for the heat, the beauty, and maybe the existential joy of a perfectly roasted Brussels sprouts salad.
Will absolutely be back to burn my mouth all over again.
