Drinks are decent and cuisine is elevated bar food and entrees. But this is not a good place for large groups unless money is no object for you. They add a 23% gratuity for groups of six or more, they will not split checks (one person had to put the whole thing on their credit card), but worst of all, you will pay sales tax on the “service charge.” In CA, it is legal to charge tax on mandatory fees, but we won’t be going back with large groups anymore. With all the extra fees, it’s just not worth it to eat out these days. Tipping fatigue is real.

We heard this was a lovely little place to enjoy a meal while watching the sunset across Santa Barbara orchards. We were not disappointed! We arrived just before dusk, sat by their fireplace with mai tais. Dinner was fantastic! They had salmon on the menu so I asked for a side of grilled asparagus. It was perfection! They should make it a regular dish! My family enjoyed their soft tacos and chicken ceasar. Above all else was the service. Our host, Victor bent over backwards to make our evening special and checked in regularly to see if we needed anything to make the meal better. (I’ve eaten at many places but rarely had such genuine care.) We will definitely come again, for the food, view and care.

The atmosphere was wonderful…I would say an awesome place to go for a couple drinks with friends after work. The service was ok. Not bad but not great. The food…welllll ehh none of us finished our appetizers and we didn’t order anything after that. With that said I would go back if meeting up with friends for happy hour

Had a disappointing experience getting drinks with a group. We could not order at the bar, and we were required to pay together on one card, with a 23% gratuity automatically added to the bill. The rules of this were unclear (eg group size) and caused confusion.
Otherwise, this is a great location with great views. Food and drinks are good. Would recommend calling in advance if you are with a part of 4+.

Great spot for music and happy hour. The Mediterranean salad wasn’t very impressive especially for $14, but I’ve had other food here that’s very good. One of the only rooftop bars in the area.

Great little rooftop with reasonable pricing and great service. I was there on Friday and they had live music. It’s not like New York rooftop, nice breeze and good food. If you are from out of town and just want a drink and appetizer, this is a cute place. On the 4th floor of Hilton.

Upon arriving we were not greeted or told where to sit. After asking one of the staff we were told anywhere a reserved sign was not posted. We were not given menus until we asked. I noticed non people of color were being seated, greeted and provided a menu immediately upon arrival. It did feel as though we were being discriminated against based on how we were treated because of how differently we were treated from others. The food was delicious and the drinks were okay and we will not be returning here.

The two of us had great food (Angus burger (good amount of fries), shrimp tacos, fried cauliflower w bbq sauce) & drinks, got a happy hour break on a couple of items. Waitress could have been more personable, but service was efficient enough, though not a full restaurant. The bar there had 3 small tvs above it with sports for those close enough. Good amount of couch seating up there, and nice view north of coastal hazy mountains. Could see Santa Cruz island tops on a clear day to the south.

I’ve been a couple times to this place and it has a good atmosphere because of the live band. The service is a bit slow and there has been a guy who was a bit rude. They accidentally brought us an appetizer we hadn’t ordered anf the waitress said we should just keep it but the attendant was reaching for it to take to the other table u til she stopped him. I also wish they refilled the waters quicker without having to ask. The food was okay, the chicken sandwhcih was a bit dry but the appetizers are pretty yummy. Their drinks are also very delicious

Just got home from another dinner at the Rooftop. We live locally and have experienced the Rooftop several times. Food tonight was good – our server was okay – not great – and the volume of the band playing was way too loud and it was very difficult to carry on a conversation with my husband. This is not a band venue – and doesn’t need music that is concert level. We saw several parties pick a seat towards the area where the band was playing only to move as far back as possible. We won’t be back if this is the norm , but it seems local repeat business would be important. Hope to have a different experience the next time.
