Four stars for meeting the expectations! Ron’s is a real live roadhouse, no getting around it. Family went in just to see what it was like a year ago, and my wife told her son “get a bottle beer, and make sure you wipe the bottle”…. The place and clientele was… sketch.
New owners came in, and the first thing they did was just clean and clean. Bathrooms are clean, bar top, floors, tables, stools — everything is spotless – “roadhouse” spotless.
Food is surprisingly good and the bartenders are on point. Clientele is all the Marine City Characters and people you’ll know if you go anywhere else in the area. Pool tables, and probably the most comfortable and numerous barstools around (other bars would do well to know that more comfy barstools = more $$$).
Ron’s has gone from some place we made jokes about driving by it to some place we stop once a week or so, and by the crowds, we’re not alone. Great to see a turnaround!

This is not a first date kinda bar. With that, I have always had a good time. Wait, staff always treats me well, and they pour a great drink. Price is fair. With regular pool tournaments and other forms of entertainment. This is a great place to grab a bite to eat or just have a drink. It is a road house so you know it is dated. I like that. If you do as well you will love this place.

This was such a fun little honky tonk. Karaoke pool and good people all night long. The drinks were a little bit pricey but I’ll pay a little bit extra for the good time. Didn’t eat any food though.

Last night was our first visit and it was great The service was fantastic from B and the other bartender. The kitchen was still open and it was after 9pm so that was awesome! It definitely has a U.P. feel to it and who doesn’t love that?! They have Keno, karaoke, and pool available for guests. The burger, mozzarella sticks, and egg rolls were good for “bar food”. We will definitely be going back soon and often.
