The pizza was ok. Wasn’t particularly amazing but decent Chicago style pizza. The place felt a little dingy and the plates were small lipped styrofoam, which was terrible for eat pizza on.
Overall I would recommend this place, but would like to see more appropriate plates and better cleaning.

Had a splendid lunch enjoying arancini (rice ball) filled with meat, peas, and cheese. Wow, I was blown away! So crispy and savory! The welcoming atmosphere made it feel like how. Highly recommend to stop in to see Damiano and his kind staff/family.

The best place for panzerotti outside Italy. My salad was very fresh with mouth watering feta cheese. Very reasonably price a d great service. My husband and I drive quite a long distance to just get their delicious food.

Stopped in for a slice of pizza. Pizza was good but the staff is slow. There was a lack of order when getting the food to the customers. Could use a better method of getting the food out. That being said I drive past the restaurant on a regular basis and see people eating. Good to see a local small succeed. Wish them well.

I haven’t been here in some time. And I must admit they are much better than I remember. I am a true advocate of a single slice and a meatball sandwich. I have to say, this establishment will not disappoint. Original post 8 months ago. Now closed presumably due to covid19 shutdown. Hope they come back.

Il Romano has great food, is affordable, and has a very nice out door area. The food at Il Romano blew me away (I had an Spinach and Ricotta Arancini and a Sausage Panzerotti). Both are phenomenal. The service is good too! You are greeted very warmly by whoever is behind the counter. I am definitely coming back to try more of the menu out!

Would never go back. I ordered a chicken parmigiana sandwich and it was horrible. My friend ordered a beef sandwich & it was nothing like a Chicago beef should be. We didn’t know what it was. The antipasto salad was nothing like I ever tasted. The meat looked like it was months old. Bad time! Maybe the pizza is better.
