Come here and get the whole hog plate! For $17 you get a huge portion of their delicious Carolina style pork, corn bread, and choice of 2 sides. The corn bread is perfect, moist and sweet and compliments the savory pork. I tried a bunch of sides and they’re all really good, can’t go wrong with any of them, the beans in particular had a nice kick to them. If you have room for dessert the banana pudding and the mini apple pie are both delicous, but highly recommend the banana pudding.

We saw Rodney’s episode of Mind of a Chef so of course we had to check out his restaurant while on a recent trip to Charleston. It’s easy to see why he’s a James Beard award winner. My husband and I each had a 2-meat plate. Each came with a choice of two meats and two sides as well as a slice of cornbread. I opted for Carolina style pulled pork and ribs and my husband had the brisket and southern style pulled pork. There was a wide variety of sauce to choose from at each table. For sides we had mac and cheese and baked beans (me) and fries and cole slaw (my husband). We also ordered a side of hush puppies. Everything was so delicious! The portions were very generous, especially given the low price tag. The meat was tender and very flavorful & the sides were all very good as well. I’ve never had good mac and cheese in a restaurant but his just blew me away. The hush puppies were moist and delicious as well. It was clean and the staff was very attentive and super friendly. I would highly recommend this place for bbq done right at a great price! ❤️

We really enjoyed the service and food. Everyone server/host we came in contact with was very attentive. This was our first visit and asked for recommendations and we were not steered wrong! We got the four meat and sides, smoked turkey, brisket, ribs and shredded pork with baked beans, collard greens, macaroni and cheese with fries. Cornbread was great! We’ll be back!

I often think that most barbecue taste the same the difference being only in their sauces. This place has amazingly flavorful meat and almost no need for sauce. Collards were not mush. Other sides good as well. We had meals and shared wings. Way too much food for two but we wanted to try it all. Can’t wait to return

We had no trouble getting a table on a weeknight. I will say they go pretty heavy on the pepper, which I like but not everyone does. Enjoyed everything we had – particularly the Carolina style pork BBQ. They have a handful of beers on tap including a few local options. Food came out quickly. Portion size is good.

This was the second stop on our mini food tour! When you attend most BBQ places, the pork options dominate the menu. We were glad, as non pork eaters, to find options that suited our interest. The parking was a little uncommon due to the construction on the street in front of the restaurant, but it was still accessible. We ordered six wings (all flats) and the two breast dinner with two Mac n cheese. It came with a piece cornbread. These wings were so good, I contemplated ordering more. The Mac n cheese was okay, but if I were to go back, I wouldn’t order the Mac again. We ate the chicken breast when we got back home, and the next day. This place is definitely worth a visit! You will not be disappointed!!!

Stopped in for lunch after the MLK parade on King Street. What a happy decision. I had the Brisket Deluxe sandwich, which was absolutely delicious. Plenty of parking. Fast service. I want to go back already.

What a great vibe. Staff was friendly and offer
Ed suggestions when asked. Food was fantastic. I wished the brisket was salted and peppered more. The chicken wings, potato salad, Mac & cheese and hush puppies were all to die for!

We just did a tasting menu with Lauren and had a blast! We left with smiles and full and happy bellies. Everything was so fresh and on point. Can’t wait to give our friends and family a Charleston bbq experience for our special day. Thank you so much! – Jess & Jeff

The restaurant had been recommended by our Uber driver and it did not disappoint. This is more of a cafeteria style restaurant. You order at the cashier and someone brings the food to you on a try. Do not be fooled by the basic setup here. The food is outstanding. They offer a variety of sauces at the table. We had wings, brisket potato salad and beans. All were top-notch. The portions are big so come hungry.
