Rodd’s Restaurant just celebrating their 35th year in servicing the Bristol, Connecticut area. I have been going to Rodd’s Restaurant (& participated in the purchase of Rodd’s On-The-Go pre-made meals) for years; ever since I was a kid. They have been an icon of good food, service & a place a family can go & share breakfast or a lunch meal. Rodd’s have been known mainly for their breakfasts, but their lunches are great as well.

Got the biscuits and gravy with eggs and a side of home fries. The biscuits and gravy were genuinely the worst breakfast I’ve had as long as I can remember. Flat, mushy biscuits, and sludgy, almost gelatinous gravy (that was also oddly sweet for some reason?). The home fries were somehow both burnt and wet. Worst $10 I’ve spent in a long time.

I had a few minutes until the place I was headed opened. I was in the Dunkin’ lot and said for a few minutes and the same price, I can get fresh. Fresh and so fast, it was a great decision to go to Rodd’s. I had a feast before me in 10 minutes!

A little local place that once we walked in and saw it was busy we knew the food had to be good. Lori was our waitress and was so sweet and caring! She was essentially running the entire restaurant and still always took time to take care of us

One of the best Pattie-melts in the state are made here(They’re call it a cheeseburger melt on the menu) and their breakfast food is what breakfast food lovers look for. The restaurant is usually busy but the wait staff, cooks, and hostesses have a nice system going and are timely with orders. I might become a regular.
