Love the vibe, decor, and view!
Drinks amazing
Ordered the grilled octopus.
Not good, rubbery. It did look good but was rubbery, It should be tender.
Only the vibe, decor and view will make me come back.

The renovations are lovely. The bar area is beautiful with a nice view. Our bartender was great. However, the bar snacks were woefully inadequate. It was inexpensive processed crackers rather than some nice roasted nuts or something elevated to match the ambience. Certainly not conducive to enticing one to stay for a second or third drink

This was my wife and I’s first visit since the reopening. The restaurant is very different from the one we use to call “The Rotten Meal”! The atmosphere is very different and frankly I didn’t care for it. It was very plain with no personality. The waitress was pleasant and attentive, but the food was very disappointing. My wife ordered the crab bisque and it was hardly edible due to the amount of flour? in the dish and it had after taste to it that was awful and she could eat it. She ordered Short Rib Pappardelle which she said was pretty good. I ordered the Steamers with local shrimp in a spicy tomato sauce. The sauce was not spicy at all and looked and tasted like watered-down Campbell’s tomato soup.
While we did not enjoy the experience, it could be due to growing pains and we may try it again sometime, but not soon.

The 1936 venue was the perfect place for my daughter’s small wedding reception. Robin and the entire staff were efficient, helpful and supportive. I’ve been to many events over the years, but the food here was excellent! Not the usual reception fare. Highly recommend for a special occasion!!

Callie was a pleasure to have as our server. Four of us got together. We wanted to try out the new restaurant. We’ve wanted an upscale restaurant and were ready to try it. We were disappointed in the menu selections. There is a house salad, but no other dressings except two types of vinaigrette. There was not even ranch dressing. We all believe that ranch dressing is one of the number one dressings that people request and found it unusual that it was not at the restaurant. We ordered drinks. Almost as soon as they arrived the fire alarm went off and we had to evacuate the building. All of us felt that there needed to be more of a variety of menu items. Unfortunately, we felt that the domino effect of everything made us go to another establishment for dinner.

5/23 update: we tried to go here for my birthday dinner with family. My wife had made a reservation for 9 and asked for table with a view. We showed up and they tried to seat us at a corner table for 6 and add chairs. We asked for a table for 9 which the server seemed irritated and stated they would add chairs. We ended up at another table and the plates on the table had dried food on it and one of the silverware sets and napkins had need used. We left after no manager could be found. Once we got a call back 4 days later they simply said sorry.
Great view and atmosphere which you pay for. We had the calamari appetizer, fried crab sandwich, and fish tacos for $63. The food was good but what you would expect for lunch. Water glasses are tiny and for not being busy our glasses were empty a lot. Very friendly staff. No military discount and no lunch menu. Probably a great place in the summer for dinner

Easy afternoon for an early lunch! Atmosphere pretty laid back! A little dated, still quite enjoyable! Appetizers of the cesar salad & the lobster with fresh hot pretzel rolls! The freshness was amazing! The pretzel rolls were absolutely fresh and great complement! Grilled wings were good. The fried wings had too much hair… Just ok! The bread pudding for dessert… was mouthwatering great! Loved! Our server Deidre was absolutely great & attentive! I rated a 4, closer to a 3.5!

Superb Customer Service !!
Decided an adult timeout would be great for a few days so Rod N Reel Restaurant and Cafe was the choice for me. First, the convenient parking garage was the foundation of the trip ;). I pulled up to the entrance of the garage and the arms were raised with signs reading FREE parking. Impossible for 4th of July but totally free 🙂 ! Stopped in the restaurant and was immediately greeted at the entrance by an upbeat delightful hostess who promptly escorted me to a nice booth with the perfect view of the Chesapeake Marina. The view consisted of beautiful sailboats, patrons utilizing jet skis, and cruises full of vacationers quietly floating in and out of the marina. As I was in awe of my spectacular view my waitress quietly approached; in such a calm and peaceful voice she introduced herself and offered her services. I then ordered my meal which consisted of the All-American breakfast with Biscuits and gravy (I was super hungry alright 🙂 ). Each dish arrived within 20 minutes; fresh and really tasty. I continued dining for at least 30 minutes. I stayed at the resort for the night which opened an opportunity to enjoy an evening meal at the adjourning café which there I enjoyed Crabby Fries and 8-Fried Wings all whilst the Karaoke Show took place on stage in front view of my umbrella covered table. I must say; this 4th of July has been outstanding all due to my decision to visit Rod N Reel Resort ;).

We believed that we would be staying on a beach of some kind only to find out not only was the beach was closed during our stay, but so was the spa because of construction which the website never mentioned. On top of that the manager charged us extra for checking out earlier because the hotel was not what we were excepting… not to mention the mini fridge was dirty along with a with few other things in the room and the beds were hard as rocks so I definitely didn’t enjoy the one night of sleep that I did have here, I will never return to this hotel again. Once off hotel property there are some scenic areas but not if the beach just a marina kind of area…
