My partner and I had dinner at Rocksalt tonight and it was honestly one of the best meals we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the staff were so welcoming and attentive — every single person we interacted with was friendly, professional, and genuinely lovely.

I ordered the chicken carbonara and it was absolutely incredible, perfectly cooked and full of flavour without being too heavy. My partner had the steak and couldn’t stop talking about how tender and perfectly cooked it was. You can really tell the kitchen takes pride in every dish that goes out.

We also enjoyed a few rounds of different cocktails, and every single one was beautifully made and delicious. It just added to what already felt like such a special night out.

The whole experience, the food, the drinks, the atmosphere, and the amazing staff, all made it such a standout dinner. We’ll definitely be back and couldn’t recommend Rocksalt more highly!

This was an unforgettable evening. The service by Chelsea (Chels) was 300%. She knew the main menu so well, and the specials, as well as the drinks, and nothing she suggested disappointed. The standout (apart from her service) was the Goats Cheese Bruschetta.
Local QLD beers on tap & as well as a really good Ginger Beer. The atmosphere from all the staff was relaxed & friendly. Thank you.

As visitors to Gladstone, Rocksalt was recommended to us by some good friends when deciding to book somewhere for a birthday meal. The restaurant was still quite busy for a Wednesday night but there was a really nice ambience. The menu was great and we ended up ordering two starters, one main and a side, all to share. Goat cheese bruschetta and short rib spring rolls – perfect portion sizes for starters and oh so tasty! We had the duck dish for main – meat was cooked perfectly and the accompanying orange sauce was delightful. The sweet potato mash it was served with gave the overall dish an extra sweetness it didn’t need but we still demolished it. And the side of chips were covered in a delicious seasoning (same team as Truffle Pig which also has raving reviews). We were too full for dessert but the options looked really good. Service was friendly and prompt – definitely recommend especially for a treat!

Had a 2 course lunch with a close friend this week and the whole experience was outstanding. I firstly look for flavour and freshness in a dining experience. If I wanted an overflowing plate of tasteless food I’d get a pub countermeal (and probably pay a similar price). We shared Rocksalt’s entrees of calamari, and arancini balls. Perfection . Serving size just enough to wet your appetite for the main. We both ordered the battered fish, chips, coleslaw and seafood sauce for mains and it did not dissapoint. Fresh, crunchy batter, chips were perfect, coleslaw was freshly made as was the sauce.
Cannot recommend Rocksalt highly enough. If you want a perfect dining experience with customer focused staff who are attentive to your needs then this is the place. Did not leave feeling overfull, the serving sizes were perfect and quality food over quantity is what I’ll pay for any day of the week.

Ordered the seafood special, was suspicious when the crustaceans were green, but the outside meat looked cooked. Cutting into it and the whole thing was raw. DO NOT ORDER THE SEAFOOD!!!

I was offered another meal that was supposed to be compensation but due to miscommunication between staff I was charged. The steak was OK.

I’ve been meaning to write a review for years.

I’m not sure if it’s the same chef or different but the quality and presentation of the meals is always the same. Ridiculously good

I’ve tried many of the mains and deserts and they never disappoint.

If you stay at the Gladstone Central Hotel you can get room service.
I’m actually staying at a different hotel this time and made the walk to try the food again.
Still on par.

I’ll be booking this hotel next because of the ease of such nice food. And the rooms are as good, if not better then more expensive ones in town.

If you care to dine in, the staff are well trained and polite making the experience even better.

Easily the best restaurant in town.

I’ll be back.

This was the perfect dinner place for my secret surprise birthday plans for my partner… Paulette and Grace were so attentive and knew the menu off by heart, specials included (thank you ladies!) and the food was a whole experience of its own. Tender, melt in your mouth meats, cocktails that were so refreshing and beautifully made up desserts. We’re passing through town, but dinner here was a highlight. If google gave me ten stars as a rating option, I’d be giving all ten very happily!

This restaurant was one of the ten restaurants i have been to in the last 6 months. Rock salt was a little hard to fine its in the hotel.

I was taken to my seat the water asked if i wanted drinks, i said yes please a red Cosmopolitan, its like a red gummy bear. So nice.

Then grace brought out my drinks. Grace was so polite and her energy will lighten up a room,

Entree i had the octopus. It was so soft and the flavours where perfect.

Main i had the peri peri chicken. The was one of the best mains iv had in a very long time. The chicken was cooked to perfection was juicy and tender, it worked really well with the haloumi cheese, however i loved with when you also add the Pomegranate and walnuts having a little but of everything at once really show cases this dish!

Dessert i had the Crème brûlée. I loved the Pistachio and vanilla ontop it has a thin layer of crunchy suger ontop of the Crème brûlée it was also amazing.

The service was so on point. All the staff are happy and welcoming,The cocktails where amazing i loved the 3 i had. The best long island i have ever had look at the colour in the photos perfection, the red Cosmopolitan was like a red gummy bear. The ladies would love this. The espresso martini was very strong. the only one thing this Restaurant was missing,was some nice back ground music.

If you havent tried this restaurant i can not Recommend this restaurant enough.
