Samantha and the sushi chefs at Rock’n sushi took great care of us. This restaurant is tucked away in what looks like a country club neighborhood. Wouldn’t have known to try it without Google/Reddit. We arrived after 8:30pm after a long day of driving and at this hour there were only a couple other tables of diners. The tai tataki, sake nigiri and hamachi nigiri were the highlights of our meal. I’d say the roll ingredients are not super varied but the fish tasted great and fresh. We asked for a side of jalapeno which we enjoyed using for some extra spice. The chef plated the tai tataki as a beautiful flower I think anyone would be happy to receive, what a beaut!

Absolutely not a fake review. Please read. I am a local who’s been going to Rockin’ Sushi for over a year and a half weekly. At minimum $200 a week spent.
A long time ago they messed up an order of mine. I requested a refund and they refused. Me and my girlfriend left negative reviews.
The owner personally replied with a book of negativity blaming us publicly on Yelp. He then reviewed my girlfriend’s work place falsely (Fine Folk Pizza) then he contacted her boss personally.
We drew the line there. Told him what his place was and that he should stay in it from now on before it escalates into a legal battle. He apologized, and sent his wife into fine folk pizza to give us $100 in gift cards. He couldn’t stop there though. It was apparently personal to him.
6 months later I receive burnt sushi all faced downwards so I wouldn’t know they’re burnt until I got home.
I immediately called the morning after as it was closing time, I told them to refund the card the purchase was on. They refused and said I “HAD TO COME PICK UP THE MONEY” rudely. I found this odd but I went.
When I got there I was greeted very rudely yet again… and told here’s $39.70 entirely in pennies in crown royal bags. He actually made a random staff member do this to me. I was also told I will no longer be served. I asked why, and was told “because you always have a problem.”
I left yet again a negative review as for the first one I actually deleted it upon his apology. His reply was as said below “come back and let’s try again blah blah” well I did. Immediately. Not to try again but to get my money back the right way.
When I got there the staff tried to get me to wait over 15mn at the front desk. My girlfriend called while I was inside and asked what’s taking so long… I was already greeted. That’s when the chef who was on the line tells my girlfriend they’re attempting to secretly call the police to have me trespassed as a last laugh.
Now he’s changed one of his 2 replies (Yelp but not Google Maps) to “this person is banned for trying to commit fraud” if anything I did was fraud I’d love to see him in court for the legitimate fraud, harassment, and entrapment this man has committed. Do not support this joke. I left pictures of the bags, food, and his Google Maps reply below to show how full of BS this guy is. If he put this effort into his business he’d make money. I find it odd that he apologized so deeply the first time and even admitted the business wasn’t doing well, just to try this with me and stress about the reviews later on down the road. The only thing consistent about this place is their bad attitude. I don’t mean to drag my comment but this man has a spoiled mentality that’s never been silenced. Some people like myself stick up for themselves and make sure those who have it coming receive the consequences to their actions. Thank you for your time if you read this entirely.

Comfortable environment for family or date night. The dishes are the right proportion and delicious! We loved the rolls, and the kids steak teriyaki for our child was incredible! We will definitely be back.

Ordered a home delivery. Very disappointing in the food flavor. Chicken pad thai was bland and sticky dry. Also ordered 2 soups. Tom Yum and Tom Kha. No spice to either. We won’t be back.

I can’t believe what I just experienced. I just left rockin sushi and it was by far my worst dining experience ever. I had to wait 30+ minutes before I received my meal. When my food finally came, the man who served me dropped the food on the table and made some of the food fall onto the table/floor in some sort of weird show of frustration. I calmly questioned my waiter on why he was acting so hostile and he yelled at me and told me to leave. His Karen of superior who smelt like alcohol and looked like she was on the verge of sleep walking, assisted in kicking me out. Oh, and I noticed a cockroach on the floor!! Sorry but this place was super dirty all around, staff and food.

I was there tonight, and received probably the worst customer service I’ve ever gotten from a restaurant in my life. I can’t see this place existing for very long with how bad they are. The food was sub par, and I tried to send it back and they REFUSED, and told ME never to come back again… I’ve actually had bad food there once before, but decided to give them a second chance. I will never set foot there again. Ever!!!

I live not too far from here and have heard great things about it, naturally I had to check it out to see what all the hype was about. Pretty darn good. Our appetizers were great, crab ragoons and gyoza, yum yum. The sushi we ordered was fresh and flavorful. Being close to home I think we found our new sushi go to. We’ll see you soon. ❤

Me and hubs still love this spot and order from here at least 2 times a month. So easy to call and place order and pick up when ready. Dining in is also a pleasant experience. We love Rock’n Sushi! ❤️

We gave Rock n Sushi a try. The building is very nice, seems clean. Service was exceptionally slow and lacking in many other ways. The best parts of the meal were sushi, we had lava drops. The crab Rangoon was great as well albeit small portions. The main dishes were not worthy of a restaurant dining experience. I had the combination thai fried rice which was bland, chicken and beef were dry and three grilled shrimp. My wife had cashew stiry fry, broccoli wasn’t cooked well and cashews were added as an afterthought. Overall the main dishes were tasteless and the ginger salad wasn’t great either. 90$ for a family of 4, 2 kids and 2 adults, should yield better results. I left 20% tip and regret that as well.

We’re visiting from Toronto Canada. Enjoyed every meal we ordered. Their food is the BEST we’ve experienced. It’s so excellent we had dinner three days in a row. Great quality, friendly staff and extremely clean place. Samantha and Nick are very friendly and accommodating. This is now our favourite place in Gateway. Highly recommended this restaurant. Of course we will return thanks for the sign you’ve advertised that attracted us to this amazing restaurant. A true hidden Jewel.

Such a kind gentleman helped me to my car with my food. I was also very frazzled after a long day at work and not completely focused and he was very patient with me even though I was being very absent minded. I appreciated it a lot and made my day. The food was amazing. Highly recommend their soup and sushi !
