This is a good fast-casual spot in Capital Hill. The burrito was great. The tacos are a solid 4/5 stars. The decor is modern and the patio is excellent on a nice night.
PROS:
– Good food
– Variety of options
– Beer/wine/cocktails + no alcohol options
– Nice patio
– Good atmosphere
– Parking in back
CONS:
– Not a lot but you’ll need to order at the counter and grab your own cutlery, etc
– a little pricy, but everything in the area is
If you’re expecting a nice sit down dinner this isn’t it. You order at the counter and they bring you the food—if you want another drink you go back to the counter. Other reviews mentioned this as a con but if you have the right expectation going in (we did) of a fast-casual spot then it’s a great place to sit with family & friends and enjoy good food. We’ll go back!

Solid taco spot in Cap Hill! Good variety but a little pricey when there are better places close by. Great spot walkable from home and an easy place to meet up with friends and neighbors!

If you’ve happened to read any of my other reviews you know I’m very VERY particular of high ratings. Not all food is good. Full stop. Too many people are pleased with too little and I’ve traveled all across America and even internationally to realize most food is decent and so sits at 5/6 out of 10. To get higher on my scale you need to be doing something different and unique! Rocket Taco definitely meets my high bar.
Ambiance – especially their new larger location with the decor, spacious and comfortable especially the outside patio with the sunny days. Makes enjoying the food awesome. Really hits the aesthetic vibe of a classic cantina with flair. 10/10
Service – All of the staff is friendly and polite. Once I came waiting until they opened and the gentleman Billy let me in 30 minutes early to order because I’m a somewhat regular haha. 10/10.
Food – I have only ever eaten really their quesadilla, but it’s so damn good why risk anything else. And most importantly it’s CONSISTENTLY GOOD. Always cooked perfectly and always the same well cooked chicken that can stand well on its own but gets even better with the crema and spiciest (we call it crack sauce haha) sauce they have that actually has heat. I’ve only had the carne asada once and it’s good (this is not on the menu but ask and they can make it) but the chicken is better. Truly, best quesadilla I can honestly say I’ve consistently eaten in Seattle. Carne Asada 8/10. Chicken Quesadilla 10/10.
That’s right, if you’ve read my other reviews you’re reading right. I’m happy to say that Rocket Taco is worth going out of your way for! And the price is worth it of course!
Overall,
10/10⭐

Great spot for family night out. I ate a burrito from here at least once a week for months and I got a little tired of it, but it was very good. The cauliflower tacos are also very good as well. I’ve just eaten from here so much! Now I just get a drink and enjoy the company. They also have this art of a highland-esque cow which really doesn’t match the other decor. Its not an issue its just interesting to me. Theres also someone who works here who looks really cool. Semi-irrelevant but their style is just so fantastic!

I think the employees make this place. The food only needs to be ok for this location. But the concept is suspect. Another but – I would do the same since the pandemic taught us so much.
Ok here’s the drill – you show up, grab a table, get up and walk to the bar to order, food runners bring your grub. Want another drink? Get up and back to the bar and order again. When you’re done bus your table and off with you.
The food is fine, the drinks ok, and you take care of yourself. Why is this so bothersome? Because there’s no relationship with anyone here.-
This place is doing well cuz low labor costs and it’s a place to eat on 19th. Which is apparently ideal as the place is consistently busy.

The carne asada tacos are divine, a perfect lunchtime meal. Vibes are very chill, decorated nicely.

Loved our time at Rocket Tacos. I was here for some friends’ event so we got a more set menu. But the chips, guac and salsa were soooo goood!!! And the tacos were phenomenal too. We also got some of their drinks, which were also delicious. The owner and the staff were friendly and nice! I’d definitely come back to try more of their menu.

Food: I ordered the cauliflower deluxe tacos for $15. They were MAYBE appetizer sized, barely seasoned, and lukewarm at best. Cauliflower was cooked badly and watery (microwaved or poorly steamed?). Food cost into these was maybe a $1. Ridiculous. I was so hungry after. My friend ordered one of their meat tacos and there was easily twice the food on his. I give it 2 stars for the keylime pie because was actually tasty but I had to wait 10 minutes for it.
Atmosphere: gets minus 1 star because it was FREEZING in there. I had to eat my lukewarm food with my jacket fully zipped up and was still shivering.

Half of the burritos we ordered was 50% tortillas and barely any meat and rice. I am used to order burritos regularly from this place. This is surely the last time I order from here.

I go on walks through this part of the neighborhood when I want to mix it up. I noticed Rocket Taco once and when my cousin said hey let’s have burritos. I offered this as an option. The place was not very crowded, which I liked. There was of course reduced seating due to the pandemic but as they had seating outside and the day was nice enough. We enjoyed the outside patio for our meal. The music was playing, I enjoyed the selection some of which I had not heard of in a bit. We both ordered beef burritos, soft drinks, and guacamole with chips. We both enjoyed our very generous burritos, very filling. I rather enjoyed the guacamole and chips which of course my cousin devoured. Except for a little bit of snark from the host, our time was enjoyable. I think I will be coming back again.
