While everything is delicious, I love the breakfast sandwich and the wing burger for lunch!
The dal was good, flavorful, if a bit salty. (I preemptively took an enzyme, but was still uncomfortably burping more than 4.5 hours later, so…) The rice was nicely cooked though. (We got there shortly after they opened, so it was super fresh). The bakon was adequate, I suppose. Clearly made from a slab of straight up gluten. A little too floppy. The scramble was disappointing. The flavor was there, but it was total mush. My husband couldn’t eat more than a few bites. I ended up packing it up and eating it as a spread inside one of the bagels later. (I’m less willing to waste food, and it was a perfectly flavorful tofu based sandwich filling, just definitely not a scramble.)
Along with the scramble, there were 2 pieces of toast. One plain, and the other was cinnamon raisin. They were both really nice. Very crusty.
For the to-go sandwich it was nice that they packed the moist items separately. The guac and mayo each were packed into 2 oz condiment cups. We had enough to use on other sandwiches later. (Helpful to have extras to enhance your makeshift sandwiches while on the road)
The hole-less bagels were not exactly like bagels. The bottoms were dusted like you’d see on a loaf. They were more like tiny boules. I vastly preferred the jalapeño one. It was much more tender than the plain sourdough one, and it didn’t seem spicy at all. We had a quarter of the plain sourdough one left the next day and it had gotten excessively hard. But we managed to finish it.
Lastly, we had a chocolate chip cookie and a pistachio biscotti. The biscotti wasn’t all that cookie-like. More soft and bready than I expected. The cookie was straightforward, and tasted like a classic bakery cookie. Just the right amount of chips to dough ratio.
They also make their own bread, so when you walk in, you see bread makers through a window into their pretty sizy bakery with large staff and large ovens. You can say high and wave to the guys who make the bread and other good, since they always wave back, even though they are very busy.
Day 1 in this place. My mother in law got tofu scramble with gluten free bread, my wife and son got French toast with vegan bacon, and I got Mimi’s Reuben. Every since I could eat meat for a while, I have been craving a good Reuben and didn’t know what to expect, but decided to try it, on gluten free bread. OMG, it was absolutely amazing. The Reuben was absolutely delicious and so much like a real deal, but all vegan. Impressive would be an understatement. I can’t have coffee now, but my wife got a cup and said that it doesn’t have that acidic taste and absolutely delicious. What an incredible experience.
Day 2, it was not even a brainer for us, so we came back and got 3 Reubens for my son, my mother in law and myself, only theirs was on marble rye and mine on gluten free bread. My wife took a bite of my sandwich and couldn’t believe how incredible it was, I crave it now, as I write this review, is how good that sandwich is. My wife that day got Healthy A.F. sandwich and loved it. Another incredible experience.
Day 3, our last day in Lake George, so it was not even a question, we came back, said hi again to their very friendly staff whom we knew already in a way and placed our order. This time, we again got 3 Mimi’s Reuben sandwiches for my wife, my son and myself, all on marble rye and my mother in law got French Toast with Vegan Bacon, which I tried and it was absolutely incredible.
My mother in law on the last day, decided to take some bread home, so she bought a few loafs of bread, marble rye, since she loved it so much and gluten free bread.
I cannot speak highly enough of this place and will we be back, I truly hope so, since we plan to come back to Lake George and this will be our go to place for lunch and maybe even dinner if possible. Thank you staff and everyone involved, we truly had an amazing dining experience in your wonderful place.
