I saw this place on Instagram and instantly added to my “”must try”” places… came here on a Sunday afternoon, parking was not hard since we found the last parking spot available right outside of Roc N Ramen. We were seated right away and the girl explained how is the process to order to us and offered drinks first…

We shared some appetizers and had two entrees and everything was made to perfection!! Loved the combination of flavors and loved the size of each plate!!!

Definitely a must try, specially for those who are acquainted with the Caribbean culture and love oxtail!! Such an interesting combination of flavors in their dishes, really loved it!!!

Food was great. Ramen is the star of this restaurant. Perfect especially on a cold day. And the oxtail bao buns were delicious. Loved the laid back vibes and the music. Make sure you ring that bell and let them know you are enjoying the ramen.

Delicious and spicy ramen in a casual setting.

I tried the Karage Chicken, solid appetizer with dark meat chicken, breading that was a bit too crunchy (vs crispy) with really yummy dipping sauces.

The jerk bbq chicken (ordered spicy) was awesome. It was presented beautifully and really hit the spot on n a cold day with a warm, savory comfort. Spice was not overpowering, but did make me a sweat just a bit.

Highly recommend.

The ramen was just SO good. Definitely recommend.
I don’t love that they add gratuity and the restaurant is not spotless. I have no problem leaving a larger tip but the tables must be clean.
Don’t like much ordering food with the app but at the end of the day what matters is the food.
I will return and definitely recommend giving it a try.

Ughhh. I wanted to love this place so bad because I love ramen and Caribbean food so I was super excited to try it only to be disappointed. You have to order everything through your phone, a lot of the items on the menu were missing pictures so if you’re a novice to Caribbean or ramen good luck figuring it out. The karaage was dry, overcooked, borderline burnt. The oxtail was overcooked and fatty. The oxtail bao buns was decent definitely has so much potential, if the oxtail is made better. I ordered the oxtail ramen with tonkotsu broth, it was decent, but the amount of fat on the oxtail and how tough it was, messed it up. I tasted the grilled chicken ramen, OMG! It was so badddd, it was basically tasted like charred water. The Arnold Palmer tasted like Arizona half and half. Lastly, the jerk chicken ramen, the mild had a little kick to it. Overall the broths were pretty bland. The food wasn’t really hot, like my corn was literally cold. The seating options are limited so if you sit by the door, you’re gonna freeze. And vibes were meh. The music selection was good though. Spent like $110 which wasn’t bad for the amount of food we ordered.

The food? So good.
I enjoyed everything I had, and the people I came with cleaned their plates; always a good sign. The food came out pretty quickly, which was a plus.

Just a heads up: you order through a QR code, so if you’re not super comfortable with that, it might be a little tricky. My advice is to ask your questions before placing the order. I ran into a few hiccups that left me frustrated. Once it was all figured out, I left with a tasty meal to go. Overall, still worth the visit.

New Rochelle has got a hit with this one where Japan meets the Caribbean with informal takes on classic ramen, Donburi, appetizers! They also serve cocktails that’ll get you right. Scan the convenient QR menu to order right from your phone, and they’ll bring it right over to your table. Here’s what went down…

Gyoza Dumplings – they have options of pork, chicken, or veggies. I went with the chicken which was an excellent choice. That dumpling sauce is to die for.

Oxtail Bao Buns – you know I can’t turn down oxtails. These are amazing. They came equipped with a plantain inside the bun as well for an added plus.

Spicy Bone Yard Tip Ramen – you gots to get this the spicy way. This was so good. All the different ingredients and that those tender pork rib tips. I could eat this everyday.

Oxtail Donburi – another decadent dish. All the topping for some bomb flavors and the oxtail was good too.

Roc ‘N’ Ramen exceeded expectations. They’re cool and laid back, but the service is great and they are not playing in that kitchen. Every dish was excellent. Make sure you hit the bell when you’re finished! ️

I never had Jamaican infused Japanese food, and I couldn’t try this restaurant. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and was greeted. The place was small and cozy. I ordered with Nico, and he was great. I ordered:

Merlot
Rock n Punch
Oxtail bao buns
Curry shrimp ramen
Curry chicken don bowl

The food was delicious, especially the bao buns! I had a really good experience!

I was intrigued by the unique Jamaican-Japanese fusion concept, which drew me into the restaurant. The oxtail was excellent and full of flavor, but the rest of the bowl missed the mark on the fundamentals of Japanese ramen. The broth lacked depth, the egg was overcooked, and the noodles weren’t hand-pulled. On top of that, the restaurant could use a bit more attention to cleanliness.

Overall, while the concept is creative and shows promise, the execution needs refinement to truly deliver on both cuisines.

The ramen (I had the jerk chicken, and my friend had the oxtail) was amazing, as were the bao buns. Will definitely be back, although the location/comfort is a bit blah.
