Love this place!! The baristas are very knowledgeable in all things coffee, including teaching coffee courses. Arguably the best latte art in richmond, and the friendliest staff around!

My first visit here was a great one, largely thanks to their excellent house-made chai. It’s wonderfully spiced, offering a depth of flavor that goes far beyond typical sweet syrups. I also thoroughly enjoyed the jelly biscuit, which was moist and delicious. Currently, only baked goods are available as the kitchen isn’t finished yet.

Clean store with great coffee beans! The drinks we had were great and the staff was extremely knowledgeable. The barista ensured I didn’t have a dairy allergy for my flavoring!

There has definitely been a big vibe shift at this location versus the old one. It is far more industrial but is very bright and open. Seating is a little limited which is funny since the location in a warehouse is massive. I do think I’m biased from coming here on a cold winter day, it might feel refreshing in the summer, but it did feel a little uninviting in the winter. The latte was great though, nice foam, good flavor. I was really happy with my coffee but it may not be a place I come to hang out.

Great service and atmosphere. They really capture the heart of the coffee scene in Richmond. Beans roasting in the background. Very friendly staff. And the coffee was up to par. I could taste the richness and nuance of the espresso bean through the oatmilk.

Stopped by on the first day of Roastology’s opening at their new location and Scott’s Addition and was unfortunately disappointed in my experience.
This is no longer the Roastology that you might have known on Cary Street.
I arrived at Roastology at approx. 11:30am hoping to grab a coffee and sit for just a few minutes (not working or reading); however, upon entering I knew that would be by complete luck if it happened. There are 6 small (2 to 3 seats) tables in the front 1/4 of the building which were all occupied. Service was not speedy, but I had 5-6 people in front of me (in a group).
I was able to grab a table, but didn’t stay long. What was once a cozy, warm, inviting ambiance clad in wood tones and greenery is now a sterile, modern, industrialized roasting room with seating.
I like Roastology’s coffee (it was my first cup of coffee when I moved to Richmond), but can’t say I’ll frequent the cafe again to sit and catch up with someone.

Exceeded my expectations! I absolutely love their light roast coffee beans. The food and drink at the roastery was equally as delightful. I was excited to finally sit inside the cafe and enjoy the ambience. It is packed on the weekends! Be prepared to wait in line to order and wait for your food. We managed to snag a seat as others were leaving, but I wouldn’t count on eating in on the weekend. Remember to bring your mask and wear it when not actively eating or drinking! Overall, it’s a chill space with friendly, skilled service and the tastiest coffee and treats.

Upon arriving at Roastology, there are several outdoor seating options, including patio tables with giant umbrellas and decorative chairs and a few wrought iron benches. On their website, Roastology invites you to bring your leashed pets to dine with you outside. There are couches, tables and chairs indoors, with free WiFi, waiting for you to get comfortable.
As soon as you enter, there’s a counter to place your order, with signs designating the stations to pick up either online orders or in-store orders. It’s very organized and streamlined, which draws me in. The menu is right above the counter, with pastries encased on the counter top for your viewing.
On this occasion, I ordered one of my favorite drinks, the iced mocha latte. The barista greeted me promptly, kindly, and calmly for such a busy place, which made me feel welcome and quite comfortable that everything was under control in this bustling coffee shop. What felt like a short time passed, and then my mocha popped up on the “In Store” orders counter.
This iced mocha dazzled me immediately with a burst of robust roasted bean flavor; it was sweet, but not too sweet, creamy and refreshingly cold. The chocolate was almost a dark chocolate, bitter, and decadent. Most importantly, the mocha flavor was imparted through and through and not once was I missing a single note of the flavor profile. This is what makes a solid iced mocha latte.
If you’d like to try some exclusive bagged coffees, look no further than Roastology, as they stock some exquisite blends, complete with tasting notes. Roastology has some fun merchandise and some special equipment for your home, too, including soft t-shirts, hardy coffee mugs, a variety of filter types, and espresso makers.
Overall, an excellent experience, and I am looking forward to returning!

Got a bagel sandwich that was pretty good. I liked that it came with orange slices. Overall, the aesthetic was nice and I love that their beans are roasted in house. I went on a Friday mid morning and it was super busy with people working on laptops. There were no seats at tables inside or out so I just grabbed a bench. And be prepared to park down the street a bit. They’ve got a bowl of water outside for dogs so I’m assuming dogs can hang out outside with owners.

The ambiance here is amazing. Love the interior of this place and they have outside seating as well. However, I would not consider this a great place to work or study because it was very busy and full of people socializing. Although, it was the weekend so maybe weekdays are calmer. I had a seasonal Latte. Taste was great- I gave a 4 star because the drink was very warm instead of hot when I received it.
