Excellent coffee and sandwiches. The gluten free club is excellent! I really wanted to go back before we left town to get another club sandwich. But we already had leftovers and we didn’t bring a cooler. Sorry the sandwich picture is blurry but the girl who made it definitely made the best one. She toasted the bread longer then the dude did.

Go here for the cheapest coffee around! The food is a bit pricier than I’m used to, but the soups and sandwitches were real good. Smoothie a bit watery but still tasted ok. Good looking. They have a discount for bringing in a mug and HUGE variety of foods and drinks. They have $1 day old desserts. Beware during lunch hours it’s extremely crowded.

We came here with my friends for breakfast. Place had 4.4 stars but I don’t understand how. Service was good, the ladies were very nice, I spilt my drink and they remade it for free. And that was the only good thing.
I got avocado BLT, bacon was hard as hard chips, I could not eat it. My husband can’t eat eggs and he got just bagel with cheese and tomato. Somehow they made an egg sandwich for him. My friend’s French toast was soggy, it tasted like it wasn’t cooked enough, she had to stick only with oranges. My pink rose petal matcha was awful, it was like I’m drinking straight up powder, it was not mixed in at all.
Place is a little expensive and it was maybe the most awful food or drinks we’ve ever tried. I don’t care if that’s peak time, that’s not appropriate.

Roast & Toast has been a Petoskey favorite for decades. The sandwiches are always spot-on, the coffee hits just right, and the fresh soups—different every day—are quietly the best in town. The menu’s stayed simple over the years because it doesn’t need fixing. Winter or summer, this place feels like home, and we’d happily brave any weather to get here.

The coffee and the avocado club sandwich were delicious.
I enjoyed the atmosphere and vibe.
But most, I appreciated the stellar service and attentiveness of the staff, especially Jenna.
The steamed cream in my java was a nice touch and brought a smile to my face.
Thank you for making my day.
I’ll be back!
Respectfully, Betty Jean Poznak

The place has a great vibe and the coffee is good.
The egg bowl wasn’t my favorite and the food arrived at very different times so when some of us had finished the food, others hadn’t even started.
The bakery was amazing though

Loved this place! The Greek yogurt chocolate pancakes were my favorite! Spicy avocado sandwich and French toast were delicious too. The breakfast food and coffee was so delicious. We ate there multiple times during our stay! We recommend!

It is a very cute little family owned place. The food was good for the price, just not too flavorful and very small portioned. You do have to order first and pick up your own condiments and food. If you’re not from there; you will definitely be noticed! Not the greatest of looks from clients or very welcoming. Overall good for the buck! Hot chocolate could also be warmer when served.

Food is as good today as it was 15 years ago. Prices are nominal for tourist town along Lake Michigan. High quality roasted coffee beans for sale or fresh brewed. Raspberry mocha tastes like it did years ago (consistent quality). Small watercloset style bathrooms with shared sink in open (limitations of old historical building with no room for expansion). Seats clean comfortable, young people drinking coffee and working on computers or phone (true coffee shop vibe). Lots of seating for small place including some outdoor back patio seating. Menu is order, pick up when called (not full service). Free water in reusable plastic cups available. Loved the Turkey Avacado Club. Thick bacon, fresh sourdough, fresh vegetables, newer sauce (good). Orange slices as garish, no chips but some fresh bread available at salad bar area. Soups were great in past (3 kinds today, tried none). It’s what a coffee shop should be, and locally owned with lots of character.
