Had a wonderful dinner tonight at Roast & Rice. Honda, Puchung and Apple were our wonderful servers. What a terrific place. We started with soup and drinks. My wife had the tofu soup and I had the dumpling soup. Both were excellent. The hibiscus ice tea was fantastic. We ordered several entree dishes and took plenty home for lunch tomorrow.
We had the fried rice, orange chicken, beef & broccoli and a wide noodle dish.
The food, service and ambiance was excellent.
Highly recommended.

Stopped by for dinner at Roast & Rice. Maria, our server was very nice, professional, and attentive. We ordered the “OH My God Sushi Roll”, orange chicken, Mongolian beef, and steamed rice. The food was hot and tasty. The ambiance was peaceful and serene. Maria was a bright star in this establishment, and we appreciated her insight and recommendations.
On top of this, they were knowledgeable and very careful in regard to allergens! I have Celiac, so I have terrible reactions if I accidentally eat wheat/gluten. They went above and beyond and actually made me a gluten free ponzu sauce to go with the roll I ordered! They even told me they can make me fried rice gluten free! Also, my step mom has a serious shellfish allergy and they made sure to be very careful in regard to this as well.
Try this restaurant if you haven’t. You will definitely find something you like! We will certainly be back!
P.S. The food display was also wonderful, so please forgive the photo… I got overly excited and ate a few pieces of the roll before I remembered to take a pic. 🙂
I started with a Thai tea latte iced with boba and that was pleasantly delicious. The spam musubi was on point but I should of got “easy rice” and was hoping it was at least two pieces. The calamari was also delicious and the sauce was great. The crispy hainam chicken is one of the best I’ve had. The garlic rice wasn’t too garlicky but it complimented the tender/juicy/crispy chicken pieces. The miso soup was also good and I added the leftover rice to it for a little finishing dish.
I’d definitely come back again and try some of their other food offerings.
Walking in, I was greeted by the waiting staff and a cozy atmosphere from the decorations.
I had the roast duck with rice and it was made well. It was cut in a way where there would be no bones. Back in NC, I would get a whole roast duck for special occasions and the taste and texture brought back some memories. I do understand it’s an acquired taste, but it never hurts to try once (unless you’re allergic). I do sometimes wonder if I’m able to buy the whole duck. It also came with a small bowl of soup and sauce for the roasted duck.
For specialty dishes like this and the economic pressure on prices, it was fairly priced, especially if you’re just eating out with friends once every 1-2 months.
