Established in 1969, the Roadhouse Bar & Grill has been one of the most recognized businesses on Puyallup’s South Hill. After 50+ years, we made the financial decision to sell the building during the Covid-19 pandemic, which forced us to make a transition. Not wanting to close our doors for good, we opted for a smaller location just 2 miles south on Meridian Ave. Now located at 18810 Meridian Ave E, we are running at full capacity daily, and welcoming all our faithful friends through the years, as well as many new customers. We hope you make the choice to come see us today and enjoy our fantastic new menu, old favorites and great tasting drinks. Also, a large section of pull tabs, and fun for you and your friends. We’ll see you here soon!
Beer & American fare in chill, car-themed surrounds with deck seating, a pool table & sports on TV.

When the new location opened it was junk with being too crowded and having tiny portions.
Glad we gave the “new” location another shot tonight. It’s totally redeemed itself.
Food was excellent, getting into an impromptu TouchTunes battle with someone trying to play Bruno Mars was lots of fun.
Service was good enough, it took a lot of effort to get my iced tea refilled several times but it was clear the waitress was running hard so it’s not really her fault.
I still miss the larger and more vibrant old location but this is a suitable rebirth.
The steak sandwich with it’s tasty grilled onions and garlic aoli, a side of huge and very crispy onion rings, and a side order of THE BEST mozzarella sticks I’ve ever had. Those mozz sticks were THICK and cheesy and the fried batter had a wonderful light crispy crunch. Definitely not those crappy thin, breaded frozen mozzerella sticks many other places use. And the ranch dressing I had with those sticks…super sweet, super creamy, super savory. Once I found this dinner combo I rarely ever ordered anything else.
Now, I was a beer guy and I loved having a taste of all their different tap offerings. They had my beloved Blue Moon, as well as easy-drinking light lagers, bold IPAs (not usually my choice but some were OK), and their seasonal offerings. I was always happy to get some nice tall glasses of a few cold ones. Made for a whole lot of fun banter at the table.
Blake was a super cool bartender and I always liked the demeanor he gave off. Just calm and collected but still had a lot of energy and charisma. And for some reason, it sounds weird but he looked like a guy named Blake. Fitting name LOL. He was a super sharp dude.
I had fantastic memories of this place when I lived in the Puget Sound area and the Roadhouse is one of the restaurants I miss the most. I had so much fun with my friends here and it was always a great way to end the night. I miss ya, Chris! We need to hang out here again when I’m back in the area!
I had been to The Roadhouse many years ago when it was a standalone place on Meridian. The food was very good so I decided to take a chance and see if this new location measured up to what I remembered from the past.
We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door. There was plenty of room so we picked a table and sat down. The bartender brought menus and was attentive to when we were ready to order.
I had the patty melt with Tater tots. Ray had the Barbecue Burger with Fries.
Our food came up in short order and did not disappoint. Everything was hot and the meat on both of our sandwiches was very good sized. I haven’t had a patty melt with that thick of a burger ever, as I recall. We were both impressed with our meals and we each took home half.
I gave the atmosphere a 4 because the music was so loud we could barely have a conversation. I understand it is a sport’s bar now, and the noise levels are what they are. This was just a little louder than what I consider normal.
The service was good and the food was excellent. We will definitely go back when we are that way again and want a meal.
Great selection of liquor and beer. Lots of pull tabs as well.
Definitely check this place out. Have the fried chicken as it is so good!
We were driving form Olympia to Kent and made the detour to try their burger. It was worth the detour. I must try stop !
