This place doesn’t look like much from the outside, but don’t judge a book by it’s cover. We were quickly seated and our drink orders were taken. It’s Saturday, so the Lobster roll is on if the specials. We ordered a hot and a cold one. Both were delicious. Hand cut fries looked greasy but didn’t taste that way. Coleslaw had some pineapple in it, it works! We enjoyed our lobster rolls and our friendly server. This is a great place to get authentic New England style seafood.
Pet peeve: 3.5% upcharge for using debit or credit. Please just build the $2 into the cost of the food. I can imagine it’s a bookkeeping nightmare.

This sweet little mom and pop dinner is definitely a hidden gem here in Port Charlotte! This was our first time visiting and we were pleasantly surprised.
You definitely get that local dinner feel upon entering and we were promptly greeted by the waitress. She was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and specials.
It became quite busy during our lunch however or waitress we so attentive, keeping our drink full at all times that uou never would have known.
Everything tasted so fresh! From the new England clam chowder to the lobster mac and cheese!! Very impressed, reasonably priced, we will be back!!

This mom and pops seafood joint has to be the best kept secret in all of Port Charlotte! As I sat looking over the menu, tourists and locals were passing through for their popular lobster bisque and lobster rolls. The staff is so humble and accommodating. Food did not take long to come out. Man, was I shocked at the quality in every bite. I had to sampler plate with fish, juicy & plump jumbo shrimp, coleslaw and fries. Everything was perfection. I will be back!!!!

Fantastic New England fair. Lobster, clams with belly’s fresh. Great soups. Clam chowder, lobster bisque, tomato. Fries are fantastic. Very clean. I saw the prep area and restroom. Get there before 5P or you’ll have to wait. Great service. Food made to order. No spirits but beer and wine. Hidden gem.

This place is small and informal, but the food I had was awesome! I had the hot lobster roll and BF had the cold one. Hand cut fries were delicious and not greasy. Clam chowder was wonderful, as was the slaw. The servers were awesome! We were just visiting and asked about things to do and go. Very helpful!! Highly recommend this place, although it’s a little hard to find, but well worth the trip.

A smaller size restaurant in a small strip mall that you will truly enjoy if you love seafood. Probably the best fish and chips that I have ever had. Generous piece of haddock, very flavorful fries and yummy cole slaw. Very friendly service also.

I had lunch with my sister at RJs yesterday. The Halibut fish and chips were extraordinary … cooked to perfection! My sister had the chowder and clam balls and said they were very flavorful as well. I now have a new seafood restaurant to add to my list of the best in the area. Big props for the cleanliness of the restaurant, and added props for the friendly and very knowledgeable wait staff. If you want expertly cooked, fresh seafood, I cannot think of a better place right at the corner of Teledo Way and El Jobean.

Delicious NE seafood. Real Ipswich style fried clams! Service is fast and friendly. The atmosphere is no frills and down home New England. Just the way we like it! We ate seafood there for lunch and took home Shepherds pie for “suppah”. Best EVER! See you again soon!!!

We decided to try RJ’s Café / New England Seafood this afternoon at 17753 Toledo Blade Blvd, Port Charlotte. We were pleasantly surprised and will definitely be back.
We were greeted as soon as we came through the door and given menus and a few minutes to look around. The place was clean and warm and I noticed the whole place had license plates on the walls from Rhode Island and New Hampshire. It was quite unique and homey. In the corner there was an older gentleman who started playing guitar and singing songs that both my wife and I knew. He was pretty good and made us feel welcome right away.
We were not too hungry so my wife ordered the Italian Stromboli and I ordered the Italian sub heated. When the food came it was nice and hot and looked great. My wife really enjoyed her Stromboli and said she was very happy with it. It was very tasty. My Italian sub was just the perfect size and was heated so the cheese melted and the bun was nice and crisp on the outside, but soft and chewy on the inside. You could tell that the bread was fresh.
Next time we come we will be prepared and will have a better appetite. We will be back for sure as we both want to try some of their seafood. The prices are reasonable and the menu looks good. So come hungry and with some spare cash for the gentleman singer, who was there when we visited on a Friday afternoon after 4:00 PM. You should check it out. It is a good little place for a quiet meal.
