Love this place. Always visit when we are the area. Tuesday night is family pasta tonight. It is an unbelievable value and homemade pasta are all awesome. Don’t miss the lasagna and ravioli! And of course start with an antipasto. You will love the dressing!

Made reservations there for Valentine’s day, I get it that it’s a little more busy on this particular day, however… After being seated and our waitress took our order, we literally waited 35-40 minutes until we saw our waitress again and her response was, “I’m gonna go see where your food is”. Two minutes later she served us. Our food was luke warm at best. Which tells me our food was ready for a while and sat there to get cold. The portions were so small I almost told her we didn’t order appetizers. Didn’t see our waitress again until we were ready to leave, which her response was, “Sorry I wasn’t as attentive as I should have been, we’re busy, I’m tired and I need a nap”. My wife and I just looked at each other in disbelief. I can honestly say this was the first time I left a restaurant hungry. I will most definitely not be going back to Rizzo’s. It was an awful meal at best!

Great place! The service is outstanding, food is high quality (portions are not big but everything is fresh and flavorful), the place is comfortable and the atmosphere is inviting. Had the baked haddock which was fantastic, shrimp and spinach pasta which was a delight and the dish of the day. Large wine menu, beer available too. Recommend!

Food is always excellent when I eat at Rizzo’s. I always get the calamari for an appetizer, thats a must!! The espresso martinis are my go to drink. The steak was juicy and not dry.

I will never go there again.
Ridiculous service by a blonde haired lady middle age. Had to ask three times just to get water walked right by us a dozen times. Never ask us if we needed anything. Then had the nerve to complain that the tip wasn’t even 10% of $147 overpriced meals. Only because one of our party happened to be walking by the station where they gathered and heard her complaining. I stormed straight back there and gave her a piece of my mind. Then when I went to walk away they were laughing. I stormed right back and gave her another piece of my mind. I told her with expensive food should come exquisite service.

Had dinner here. The snails were very tasty, the stuffed fish I had was nicely baked, the steak my friend had was below average. They probably have the best maintained interior in windber and Johnstown area, appropriate for biz dinner.

My second time in Rizzo’s. We had such a great 1st time a couple of months back, we made it a point to come back each time we are in Johnstown. My chicken parm was good but my husband lasagne was different from usual lasagne. There is no layers of meat in this lasagne but a ricotta cheese pie with a couple of meat balls. Lasagne tastes good but just different. Service has been awesome for both times. We will be back for our next meal to try other dishes.

I’d rate this restaurant the best we’ve ever eaten, hands down – the type of restaurant you see in “movies” where it’s family owned Italian since the 20s.
The food is obviously the main reason we go, ALL is homemade and fresh, absolutely delicious. From the delicious bread they first serve you up to the dessert which is always A+, and my family has tasted all of it.
I will say however despite the immaculate food, the second main reason we go is the atmosphere. There has to be over 40/50+ staff/waiters/waitresses/chef at any given time. Every one of them ALWAYS shows kindness to my family – the classic “letting the kids come back to the kitchen to pick their dessert”, always sweethearts who aren’t cold when we order or need something, almost like always talking to a friend.
I’ve visited Rizzos since I was a child, however it’d been over 10 years since I’d went (life happens) and only recently started going again. The same cozy atmosphere that it was since I was a child looking up over the tables and now sitting at the head of it.
It goes to show that not everything needs changing and some places should stay the perfect way they are. We absolutely recommend Rizzos. Our only complaints are some days it’s difficult to get a table, despite the stocked staff – it’s an incredibly popular restaurant, and that’s not their fault, but this is only sometimes proving difficult. Otherwise, you’d be crazy not to come here! We love it.
