Fifteen dollar lox bagel left a lot for the wanting. Really light on the lox and the red onion – and not good quality lox. Lox lovers beware this isn’t going to do it for you.
The French toast bagel with pumpkin cream cheese was really good
I like the sausage egg sandwich as well
Staff is sweet but it’s sad they don’t get tipped at this place or coffee place – no matter how you shake it they would make more if they were tipped employees
Atmosphere is corporate feeling cold and boring

First off, the people who work there are wonderful, they were very welcoming and accommodating. I ordered a bagel with lox spread.. And my wife got a different bagel. The lox on my bagel was more gray than it was pink. There was way too much cream cheese on the bagels. It was a very messy eat for both of us. The prices are very high with a dozen bagels coming to twenty five dollars and change, and my loxs bagel was fifteen dollars and change which i’ve never paid that much for and i’m sixty years old. The bagels look delicious and I suppose if you are specific about what you want. You would have a very nice visit. It just wasn’t a good one for us.

EDIT: I still love this bagel shop. However, weekend service has gotten SO SLOW. On a Sunday at 11am it often takes 15-20 minutes. Still adore the bagels! But now I just get a bag of day-olds, cut + freeze them, and toast them at home. Other notes: Coffee is different (and worse) than the drip coffee at the Riverwalk Coffee next door. Mac and cheese is just ok, and overpriced for the serving size. Pizza bagel is a great value!
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Moved here from NYC and have been craving a “real” bagel ever since. This place hits the spot! It’s clear they’ve done their homework: bagels have a crackly, bubbled exterior and a chewy, tender interior — no fluffy monotextured nonsense. Service is prompt and friendly, and they have online ordering. Interior is bright, clean, and modern. Seating area is thoughtful: good lighting, lots of tables with power outlets, and a booster seat available. Welcome to Oswego, Riverwalk Bagel — we’re so glad you’re here, and we’ll be back!

I was so excited for Oswego to get what looks like a real bagel shop however all I have been is extremely disappointed. The first time I came in I was full of promise only to be let down. I ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese poorly cut and the cream cheese to be spread like butter not even enough to cover the bagel. I thought with the reviews being great maybe it was just a rough day so I let it go and gave it a second chance but yet again the same thing happened and I even asked for extra cream cheese. I didn’t want to make a fuss in the store as it was getting busy and the production of the bagels was already incredibly slow and the workers looked stressed. I’m not upset with the workers because clearly they weren’t trained enough to make a proper bagel. This is a management issue. So I thought I would display my lower quality bagel than Dunkin’ Donuts and end the photos with how a bagel should look like and how much cream cheese real bagel should have.

New bagel joint in the Riverwalk building in downtown Oswego. Ordered two bagels. First, a non-toasted Salt bagel with Jalapeño Cheddar cream cheese. Second, a toasted Everything bagel with regular cream cheese. Both bagels were delicious, however, the size differential between the two was huge. The Jalapeño Cheddar cream cheese was hot . Definitely didn’t disappoint in the flavor or heat departments. Daughter says it was the best bagel she’s ever had. Friendly service, but slow. Will absolutely return. Probably over & over. Recommend downloading the app.

We stopped bay after getting a pizza next door. Bagels were good, maybe a little pricey but they were good and more importantly there was a lot of variety with a variety of toppings.
When we are back in the area, we will stop by again.

When it first opened, it was great. But the more you go the more you realize how low quality the food is. The eggs are frozen and microwaved, like Dunkin, and the portions are thin. You pay $15-18 for a bagel sandwich that leaves you wanting more and questioning how Sysco frozen food is worth more than $10. You’re better off going to Oswego Bagel where they use real eggs and fresh meat alongside homemade bagels. NOT worth it anymore. Just another rich mans money-making-scheme.

Edit on November 8, 2021:
Thanks for adding hummus to the menu as a spread option! I was dismayed, however, to see that a bagel with hummus or avocado spread costs $7.00. When the price of a single bagel is $1.50, this $5.50 upcharge feels like absolute robbery. I could buy four avocados at the store or a tub of hummus at the grocery store for less than than upcharge. I don’t think it’s right that there is such a significant price difference between these two spreads and the cream cheeses you offer.
Thus, I’m amending my review to four stars. I stand by what I said about the quality of the bagels, but the fact that non-dairy consumers have to pay so much extra at your shop for a spread is just sad to me.
FINALLY!! There is FINALLY a bagel shop in Upstate New York that is worthy.
I grew up in the NYC metro area, and as a result, I am fairly particular when it comes to bagels. No place that sells bagels in Upstate New York has come close to replicating what I would declare to be a “real” bagel.
But, Riverwalk Bagels has their recipe right. The consistency of their bagels is spot-on. They definitely are NYC-style in terms of the internal texture and the external crust.
The staff is friendly and the space is welcoming and clean.
A few suggestions:
-While the texture is spot-on, the size of the bagels is smaller than true NYC-style bagels.
-I think that the Everything Bagel seasoning could benefit from some additional salt, garlic, and poppy seeds. However, the addition of black sesame seeds is great.
-As someone who does not consume dairy, I love that there is a marked Non-Dairy spread option on the menu. I would suggest more than one; hummus would be a great addition.
Overall, a great place and I am SO PUMPED that it’s here!! I live in Baldwinsville and will be making the drive.

We were excited to try this established but were very disappointed with our experience. The staff was friendly. Ordered two bagels “toasted” with plain cream cheese. After a 20 minute wait the bagels came out barely warm and with an over abundance of cream cheese! Bagel flavors were mediocre especially the Everything.

I got 2 bagels – a SEC on a Cinnamon Raison and an Egg and Cheese on a Pizza Bagel. It cost $22. That is insane for 2 bagels that do not really stand out from the Bagel Shop up the road. Are they made fresh? Sure. But I have had bagels elsewhere that are much larger and much better for a much lower cost within the last 3 months. From a financial standpoint, this place isn’t worth $22 for 2 bagels.
