Had lunch here today. We sat at the bar, service was fast and we ordered the smash burgers. It comes in a basket with very unique fries. The burger has crispy onions, cheddar and a smokehouse sauce. I liked that the burger did not soak the bun and drip everywhere. The onions were nice and crispy but the burger itself was a little dry. Fries were crispy see pictures. Ok place for a quick no frills lunch!

When you sit down in a booth that needed recovered a decade ago, you should heed that sign. One overwhelmed waitress. And she did well. 5 tables to serve with no help. And the owner was there. Over an hour wait for mediocre food. A “half” Reuben sandwich that might rival a White Castle burger in size. Maybe had ” half “ the flavor of a good one perhaps. Cost as much a “full” Reuben elsewhere. Chicken Livers had a weird sweetness. And the bread sticks…well let’s call them bread balls. All 5 of them for 9 bucks. See photo. 70 bucks for two sandwich baskets, two appetizers and a side of fries with teas. I’m all about paying anything for GOOD food and service. But this experience just left me feeling violated. Our final stop for the day was at Rivertown Grill. My wife was in the mood for a basket of their Sidewinder Fries.

The fries were hot and crispy. They were a little thicker than I prefer, but my wife loved them.

The dining room was pretty quiet so we sat outside on the sidewalk. There was live music playing on the other side of the bar and we sat and listened as it spilled out into the street.

Walking in, they warned us that it would be a 30-40 min wait on food and that was pretty accurate. Guessing they were understaffed.
Party of 5, waiter didn’t write down our order and had to come back to confirm one. He did check on us often and about as we needed refills. Asked a second time to confirm my soup. Soup came out wrong BUT he made it right by comping it since it cause us to wait even longer (everyone else got their food). He did offer to let me keep the wrong soup (gumbo) but I don’t like spicy and declined. I nibbled on the fries while waiting on the remake.
Food overall was good, sent us out with drinks to-go. However 3 of the 5 of us had to visit bathrooms pretty quick (30 mins) after eating as it went straight thru us (if you catch my drift).

Pictured is a $15 bowl of soup, supposedly gumbo chipped bowl and all. Didn’t taste like any gumbo I’ve ever had but did taste quite a bit like canned veggie soup (tomato flavor and carrots included) with one shrimp and a few slices of cheap smoked sausage, think hot dog with a little smoke flavor. Genuinely disappointing.

Setting and service were fine. Husband got a fish basket special and said it was fine and worth the price. It wasn’t great or special but an adequate value.

This place is an hour from home but has marketed widely. I was excited to try it but don’t expect to go back given its city has better options.

Rather short handed today. Nice people they just can’t keep up. Smash burgers are OK. The fries are awesome. But if you want a real burger. Go to Shirley’s.

Ordered the ribeye steak it was so tuff that the steak knife would hardly cut it with a lot of sawing i made it through it, told the waitress she said she was going to see what she could do she gave me 3% off of the steak I couldn’t eat.
THE UP SIDE THE MAC AND CHEESE WAS GOOD AND SO WAS THE GREENBEANS.
I WOULD OF RATHER ATE AT BUGERKING
I DON’T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL.

Stopped in for a very late lunch last Thursday, so a very slow time for them. Server was very nice, food was horrible. Hubby got the Whitefish Basket. Whitefish was pretty good. I got the Angus sliders and was very disappointed. Just very thin frozen burgers that were tasteless. I ordered cheese on them ($1 extra). Each slider had a 1/2 slice of cheese when they arrived. Bun was hard (stale?) on the top. Both baskets come with fries. The crinkle cut fries were hard, lukewarm at best and very small portion – about a handful. (I have small hands!). Ordered fried pickles to go for our daughter – she is obsessed with fried pickles. She ate a couple, said they were too spicy. Still in the fridge, guess they’ll need tossed out. There went $13. Total: $47 or $48. Way better food at Culver’s (actually tastes like good beef!) Hubby nailed it – said it was two stops in one – first and last time to eat there.

Great food! Hand breaded chicken tenders and hand breaded coconut shrimp . The garlic sticks were authentic, fresh dough and perfectly cooked and seasoned. The dining area looks small, but the food is freshly prepared .
The chicken tenders were huge.

Madison Ribberfest visit and most restaurants on main street are great! Definitely stop at this one!
