I really wanted some seafood and was in the area from just North in Wesley Chapel.
Was heading back home and my normal stop was closed. So I decided to try someplace new to me.
Riverside came up as a 4.7 rating on Google Maps so I decided to give them a shot and see how they were.
The inside is pretty spread out and very bright inside. Not a lot of seating(7 tables) so this place would be more so for those getting their food to go(see pics).
The man behind the counter was pleasant as I asked questions being there for the first time. I told him what I wanted and he assisted with recommendations. I ordered the #12 Riverside Platter and an extra 10 shrimp on the side. That was $47 and change. It is a lot of food though. 2 large filets, 15 or so bay scalops, 10 , and 6 oysters, plus nicely crunchy seasoned . All items for that platter are fried but it didn’t feel overly greasy/oily. Maybe a little bit over-fried but not terrible where it dries out the seafood. The breading just looked a little dark and was very crunchy, but the seafood was hot and tender, nothing overcooked.
When I say it was a lot of food I’m not kidding. I ate everything except the filets and the 10 , stuffed!
Some side notes:
– they have a Shaker of some Cajun seasoning at the counter if you want. It isn’t hot spicy but does add a nice subtle flavor to whatever you put it on
– if you want dipping sauces(tartar, or cocktail) they will give you the first 4 for free, but then you have to buy any extra for $.50 a piece
– if you accidentally pass it like i did when driving there, then turning around and coming in from some other direction is not very convenient. You can do it, but just expect to do several u-turns on narrow roads

My overall experience was pleasant and they have several reasonably priced menu items. They are curteous enough to show you your food when you come to pick it up at the counter(see pics) so you can confirm your order and see how good it looks. I would eat here again if I was in the area.

I hope this review was helpful

Fantastic food. Definitely come here if you’re hungry for delicious fish. Portions are huge and prices are very reasonable. The place is spartan but you can always get your stuff to go if you decide not to dine in.

“We ordered from Riverside Seafood Market on Fletcher after a long day, and they had it ready and waiting upon arrival! Greeted with warm, friendly service, they even opened each dish to ensure perfection. Sammy’s boneless wings were spot-on, Kimmy’s Riverside Bowl came exactly as requested (no onions!), and my grilled cod with fries and rice was flawless. You can feel the pride in every bite. If you visit, tell them Christopher sent you—and enjoy the same perfect experience!”

It’s been a while since I’ve been to Riverside. Actually, I’d never been to the Fletcher location. Yet, similar to the original location on 40th, the Fletcher location is clean and delivered nice, simple fish and chips. The service was quick and friendly. The menu is diverse but not overwhelming or fancy. Fresh fish is what you and it’s what you get. The fish (cod and tilapia) was fresh, crispy, and yet not oily. I like the Old Bay dusting, but I do suggest offering customers the choice of seasoning (for example, Old Bay or salt & pepper or both). I also had the onion rings which were fried to perfection and not oily. Keep it up!

Fresh and filling! Got the fried Seafood Platter. My husband and I shared it. We both left full and happy. The breading is very light, crispy, and flavorful without overpowering the seafood. The staff was very friendly and the dining room was clean. Fresh brewed regular and sweet iced tea as well as fountain Pepsi products. You can’t beat the variety or the pricing! Great job, management, chef and staff!

Fresh delicious food, plus friendly people! Ordered two grilled fish platters (one with grouper and one with tilapia) and they gave us two big nicely grilled filets for each, smelled SO good. My mom loved the fish! Also ordered a shrimp poboy and shrimp pasta, I loved the shrimp, tasted fresh! My family and I are very happy with our meal today, thank you so much! Will be back!
