Called in for lunch as in Stamford. Lovely friendly staff, great welcome. Ordered 2 regular fish and chips, thought they had made a mistake and gave us 2 large portions but that was not the case. Great portions. Really lovely place. Staff all so friendly. Great value. Will definitely be back. Best fish we have had for a long time.

Oh my god! How tasty was these huge portion of fresh fish and chips! My husband and I ended up sharing a portion because it was huge. The fish was plump and plentiful! The staff were prompt and very friendly. We decided to stop off in Stamford on the way back from York to Kent and fancied some fish and chips And we chose this place and weren’t disappointed!

Now, I’ve eaten a lot of fish and chips and this one was a belter. Some of the best I’ve ever eaten. Fresh fish with a light batter and nicely fried chips. Finished with a great pot of tea and a mini mince pie. Outstanding food and really friendly service. Top drawer.

All the fried food seemed dry and bland. The kicker was a banana shake that tasted like the artificial flavors in a Laffy Taffy and which had the consistency of milk (the anti-thick shake). It’s a cute place in a charming town. I hope management can improve things.

Stamford is a town blessed with a plethora of choices for a bite to eat. We fancied fish & chips and saw this place by the river.
The food is good and they have a sit down restaurant area which is nice.
If you’re in the area and looking for fish & chips this is definitely worth a shout.

Was hoping for better. Wanted to like the chippy but just felt a bit dated all round from the actual restaurant to the food. It was edible and well presented. Nice friendly staff. Prices were ok. Not often I don’t want to finish my chippy tea, it just wasn’t great and didn’t feel to healthy after.

I visited this fish and chips restaurant for the first time for dinner at 4.30pm on Tuesday 11th November 2025. They open at 4.30pm. I just ordered a small cod, chips and mushy peas with a pot of tea. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was good with a radio station playing and the team of young ladies serving were lovely. I would definitely recommend.

Searched for a Fish & Chips restaurant off the A1, on a long journey home. Phoned to check we didn’t need to reserve and was cheerfully told “No, we have 20 tables” and that they ooked forward to seeing us. The shop was dealing with a steady stream of takeaways but we were served very quickly, got our cup of tea straight away, as offered, and the dinner followed shortly after. Crispy batter, perfect chips, sweet and perfectly cooked garden and mushy peas and a large slice of lemon. The bread and butter was thick sliced and proper butter. Cheerful waitresses, so had a laugh as well. Plenty of free parking behind, though it was busy as 7pm on a Friday night. Planning a future trip to explore Stamford and we know where we shall be eating!

Sat on the terrace for one of the best meals of fish & chips I’ve ever had. Regular cod was a very decent size, crisped to perfection. What seemed like a small amount of chips was actual perfect portion control, and again, crisps cooked to perfection. Came away feeling satisfied and still thinking of how good the meal was. Mushy peas & pies also score highly.

Absolutely disgusted, me and the misses have been here a few times had a couple of nice meals. So we thought we would go for another meal. We ordered our food misses order hers which she had one home made fish cake instead of the 2 that was offered as was to much for her. With that she had chips curry sauce. Then came to ordering mine i order 1 sausage which i ended up getting 2 sausages i asked for 1 standard fishcake which when brought out was frozen. I sent it back there was no remorse of replacing the whole meal. When they asked how was the meal i told them why wasnt the temperature checked with a probe. Didnt know what to say and came out with a load of ramble. When i came to pay they knocked the fish cake off but no sorry or discount off the bill with disfaction of the ruined meal
