Our party of four ordered various seafood – combination platters of oyster, shrimp, scallop, flounder, shrimp. Every one of us enjoyed the meal. My fried shrimp was divine! Slaw and the hot stewed potatoes were delightfully seasoned. Hush puppies. Yummy! The waitress and staff are very attentive. So thankful this seasonal restaurant is open.

I drove 45 minutes to check this place out on my anniversary, and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The road leading to the restaurant was washed out, making it difficult and unsafe to get there. Once we finally arrived, we noticed a paper sign on the door letting us know they only accept cash—no debit or credit cards.
Having just moved to North Carolina, I’ve been excited to support local, family‑owned businesses, but this was a letdown. In today’s world, it’s extremely rare for a restaurant not to accept cards, and most people simply don’t carry cash anymore. It was an inconvenient and surprising experience, and honestly, I wouldn’t return.

I personally enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and it had a great view being right on the river. Only thing was I didn’t expect so many bones in my fish, nearly choked on one. That however was my fault because I had no knowledge of how it was made. I would recommend if your looking for a small place to have a a reasonably price meal.

The food was delicious! The waitress was attentive and refilled our drinks without being asked. The booth was very small and the seats were sticky.

I am not much on herrings, but these were really good and cooked just right. All the food was good, the staff was friendly and prompt, and the prices were affordable. My first time there but I will be going back.
