The River’s Edge Drive is one route 1 in Machias. You can order everything from fried clams to ice cream. My clams were pleasantly crispy and I thought the fries were cooked just right. The soft serve ice cream tasted institutional and the lemonade was just ok. They do have some picnic tables but only a limited number and without umbrellas.
The order takers were rather curt and I was not sure if that was in a New England way or that they just did not want to be there. The entire experience was just average. Oh and the prices will surprise you and not in a good way.

Seafood baskets, wide variety of sides and many ice cream and custard treats. Even a doggie ice cream bowl with a dog biscuit on top. Takeout only, with fast moving lines of happy people. Tables on the river to enjoy your order on site.

The lobster roll that I got last week was terrible. I’m from Maine and this was truly inedible. (Took one bite and literally couldn’t eat the rest.) Only leaving a review to spare someone else the disappointment—and the $27!!!

Best lobster rolls and scallops in the area! My friends were visiting and we ate lobster at Helen’s in Machias, Fisherman’s Wharf (in Lubec) and River’s Edge in Machias. River’s Edge had the best lobster roll by far. It had lump lobster, not just little pieces and the bun was perfectly toasted.

Food was not very well prepared at all ordered a trio seafood combo,shrimp clams and scallops. Clams were mediocre at best scallops were cooked in grease that was not up to temperature ,making them soggy and really greasey. Than I’d say cooked to l9ng to boost
Shrimp tasted like bleach. Gross. For almost 40 bucks was severely disappointed. French fries tasted like citrus ,tangerine to b exact. Steak bomb was ok chicken tenders were ok. Please learn how to cook seafood. Your suppose to know this by now your a local seafood eatery.

Lobster meat in the lobster roll was green and tasted like a fish tank. No butter or lemon. There goes $27. Yikes!

Had the worst Lobster Roll I have ever had in my life! I honestly don’t believe that it was real Lobster meat! Not going back to this place!!
