Great service all the times we ate here. Located right on the Arkansas River. Great breakfast buffet for only 12 bucks! Delicious options for dinner. Go with the turkey wrap if you want to satisfy your appetite with something fresh delicious. The fries are perfectly done and tasty. A definite win!

We live in the area but hadn’t had the chance to try it until yesterday. The outside deck is the best location in town. Right on the river and off the beaten path.
We both had tacos, fish and carnittas. Great flavors and presentations. The salsa has some heat and that’s a good thing.
We will have to go back and try some other items on the menu. In the meantime, just.go and you won’t be disappointed.

We found this place unexpectedly while on vacation…it has that great relaxing vibe that we’ve come to expect when we’re here. Great scenery by the outside table (watching rafters and kayakers). Our waiter was very attentive and came by regularly to check on us. Fantastic local beer selection. Will definitely visit again next year!

It was okay. Expensive for the portions you get. The pork Carnitas street tacos were very dry. The salsa was dry like pico. I thought we would get the chips and salsa and the salad we ordered before the meal but it all came at once. Paid $8 extra just for elk burger patty and truffle fries upgrade. It was good but not worth it. So, lunch for four was over $60 with tip. I won’t be going back anytime soon.
Management came by to ask how it was and I told him the Carnitas were dry. He apologized but didn’t offer any resolution.

The service was great. Even my dogs loved eating the treats ansd water. I loved the food. The cheff Willie Slater even came out to great us. Not only was food and service was great. They gave us great locations to visit , bike rentals,water activities,and fishing. Having five children with me made it a bit hard too please all. They made it possible. Love you guys.

We visit at least once a year when we are in town. Excellent location and great times. One of the best places to visit and eat. Always good food. I really enjoy the sweet grass burger. Also we can’t forget about the beers…Great selection.

I have yet to have a good experience here. Most recently went here during Fibark and waited over an hour to get food when the restaurant wasn’t even full. No one seemed to know how to help the kitchen when they are that far behind. Couldn’t get a straight answer out of the server, and there was a general sense of ambivalence from anyone who wasn’t in the kitchen or running food.
Even when the restaurant is less crowded, I’ve had sub-par service.

Accessible access to the back patio, the spacious venue offered a relaxing atmosphere. The brisket burger was hearty and flavorful. They were out of truffle fries which disappointed immensely because I like my fries and not sweet potato ones. I was doubled up on the BBQ baked beans, which had a delightful zip of spicy goodness. Nitro Milk Stout and iced tea beverage warshed down the meal.
The chunky garlic hummus, with large pieces of cucumber, tomatoes, red onions, kalamata olives and feta served with soft pita pieces, was delicious … Delicious for Salida, Colorado locals and visitors perhaps, but far from the goodly quality other hummus’ I have had at middle eastern restaurants. Still good. Just not even the best.
It is a great place for food and spirits, along the river, in Salida. I can see this being a top local hang out. I need to try more. I’ll be glad I did.

midsummer vibes
Im not even sure where to begin. We were brought there by a local who had a pretty decent experience the week before, so he decided to try it again with us. The staff seemed a bit stressed out. It took awhile for us to get menus. Apparently, according to the woman outside, there had been a table of 11 that had just left and they needed time to recover…..so, when we were greeted by our server, he didnt write anything down. We thought this was a recipe for disaster. We were right. We were a party of 7, and we didnt get what we had ordered. The burgers were well done, asked for medium rare, and my brisket burger didnt contain any brisket! The beer took super long to get, and the waiter took ownership of that. When confronted about my burger he had another one made, but the whole dining experience took, from start to finish, 3 hours! That is absolutely ridiculous. The kids were starving and the adults were thirsty! The only thing that is saving you from me giving it any stars at all, was the waiter. The poor thing. He looked over worked and under paid. He was very gracious and understanding. He was definitely trying. It would have also been way better if the outside fire was lit. Because boy was it chilly on the patio once the sun went down. The local that we went with said that he was there two years ago and had an awful experience, and decided to give it another try with us. Now, after this last time, I’m pretty sure he wont be back and neither will we. Its too bad too, my second burger was made to perfection.

Great food, music, atmosphere and the service was excellent! We got to sit right by the river, watching a kayak class play in the rapids! We will be sure to stop by again next time we are in town!
