FAMILY OWNED & OPERATED SINCE 1984! River Pizza is an independently owned, family business operating in Orleans, Ontario. In the highly competitive world of take-out meals, Georges AbouAssali, owner of River Pizza, has managed to run a successful business by sticking to two very basic principles — never sacrifice quality and treat every customer like family. Sticking to those two cornerstones has enabled AbouAssali to grow River Pizza from a small, one-room pizzeria with no delivery service, to one of the most recognized take-out and delivery outlets in Ottawa’s East end.

I can’t say enough about River Pizza. I ordered from there for the first time and I discovered the food was the best takeout I have ever eaten. I can’t wait to try all the dishes. I order a steak sub, a donair and a greek salad. It was fantastic. I would recommend trying River Pizza. Prepare to be wowed.

My husband is a bit of a foodie and particularly loves pizza. We live in southwestern Ontario and have often tried local pizza in the different places we visit, though we don’t travel much anymore. We’ve been to Ottawa a handful of times in the past but didn’t know until recently that it is one of those cities that has its own distinctive style of pizza!
This past week we were in town for a few hours only, and decided we’d pick up some Ottawa Style pizza for the road on our way out of town. We did some searching online and found a Reddit post where a local recommended their top three Ottawa Style pizza places, and River Pizza was one of them. After checking the three companies’ websites, River was the one we chose to try so we drove out to Orleans for pizza before getting on the road back home, and we were definitely glad we did!
The service was quick and friendly, the price was better than the other ones we looked up, and the pizza was hot, fresh, and delicious! One slice survived the six hour drive home and got reheated the next day. So, we tried the pizza fresh, cold, and reheated, and it was great every time!
As we don’t live in the area, we are unlikely to be return customers (or, once-every-few-years customers at best), but we would definitely recommend River Pizza to people who live nearby, or to others passing through like us who want to try a slice of the capital’s own pizza!

I am usually a lunch customer and really enjoy the donairs here, but I have tried many things on the menu and all of them have been good and satisfying.
