Very good service and very good food. Will definitely be back. Nothing was wrong with the atmosphere at all, your typical locally owned diner/restaurant. We both had bacon and egg breakfast. I had side of sausage (very fresh). Hughes pancakes that we split– tasty.

Older building but very well maintained and clean. Everyone was friendly and we were sat right away. Took awhile to receive our food but our order was correct and fresh. Portion sizes match the price. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered and we will visit again!.

Stopped by with my husband for an anniversary lunch , and he got chicken fried steak and I got the fry day special fried catfish and hush puppies this was honestly the best catfish I’ve ever had here in fwtx!! I lived in Louisiana for a couple years and it reminded me of that . Husband said fried steak was light and not greasy and fulling ! The okra was definitely one of the best sides , you can tell its homemade and its not greasy at all !! So delicious and nice Service 100% recommend

How have I shopped next door and driven past this place fifty-eleven times without realizing it was here?!

Let me tell you — the food is fooding. The pancake (or maybe the syrup?) was a little too sweet for me, but those eggs? Absolute perfection. I rarely order eggs out because they’re never right… well, they nailed it here. Cooked exactly how I ordered!

But the real stars? Kat & Lilly. I came in craving chicken-fried steak, but the breakfast version was a total carb overload, so I pivoted. Then I saw one hit another table and instantly got FOMO. I asked if it was too late to switch — totally fine if so — and even though it technically was, these ladies made it happen anyway. Customer service level: chef’s kiss.

Some of the best meals happen in hole-in-the-wall spots, and this one proves it. Plus, I got to chat with the owners — genuinely friendly and down-to-earth.

Hidden gem? Absolutely. I’ll be back.

We were visiting the area and looking for a place with veggies and this great place didn’t disappoint! We had collard greens, okra and onion rings( they also had broccoli and several other options) my husband had the Tuesday special($10.) of Texas succotash) there is a different one each day). My main course was chicken fried chicken (perfect batter) (a Texas favorite). I chose the half size meal for $6.99 and it had a great portion. The rolls come with each meal and are sooo good! All of our food was delicious!! Notice in my pic the Texas sized onion rings with delicious batter!! Everything about the restaurant earned 5 stars, I highly recommend it!

Laid back “come-in & sit spell” kind of atmosphere. Friendly staff, good food (try the cherry pie, yummy!). I had a good time. It’s a road trip for me but worth it & is will be back again soon.

This is a great old-fashioned diner that my son was dying to take us to he goes there every weekend. It was really cool and I was impressed I feel like I was back in the ’60s everything now is so commercialized this was a great breath of fresh air.

First of all if you want the best texas country break/brunch/lunch/dinner this is the place. Me and my best friend come to this place all the time it’s our go-to a small gem in a small town and I love it. There’s so many items I would recommend I do love the breakfast tacos and my new favorite is the non-traditional Club. The bacon was crispy, the ham and turkey totally completed the sandwich . Such a great and friendly staff. So clean and the service is so fast thank you guys for serving me. U got a regular here

In a strip center, busy on a Saturday. Short wait. Ordered the original hamburger that has won best burger FW 2024. Restaurant was almost full so a wait for food was expected, about 15 mins or so. It is a fat burger, cut it in half, first bite very good flavor. Fries very good. Eating second half found that burger became dry. Wasn’t ask how you wanted it cooked, so I’d suggest asking for medium-medium rare so the second half won’t be so dry as it looses some of its flavor. Spouse had the half order catfish with Cole slaw. He said very good. Prices reasonable, $30 with tip. Will go back.

We ate our local cafe for the first time and we sure were missing out.
We both had their chicken fried steak and it was great. We were seated right away, our food came out hot and fresh pretty quickly. It was a nice atmosphere with good service. We will definitely be back to try more food. Highly recommending!
