Reviews
We decided to each order a drink instead. After reviewing the menu further, we chose to order a bottle of champagne. When we told the server, he appeared visibly annoyed, which made us feel uncomfortable — as though he either didn’t want to serve us or assumed we couldn’t afford it.
Fortunately, we had already placed our brunch order before requesting the bottle. However, after the bottle was brought to the table, the server never returned to check on us.
He walked past our table multiple times without stopping once to see whether we needed anything. We eventually had to ask another bartender for water and for the dessert menu. I even had to get up from the table and pay at the bar because we waited so long for assistance.
Unfortunately, I do not recall the server’s name, but he was wearing a black football jersey with the number one. Overall, the experience felt dismissive and disappointing, especially during what was meant to be a celebratory occasion.
Though service wasn’t exactly good, it would have been easy to overlook had the food a drinks made up for it – it did not. Ordered the cauliflower and cheesesteak rolls, along with the squash ravioli – and I sincerely don’t know how to put this nicely, but it was all really bad.
Cauliflower was not prepared right; hot on the outside, cold on the inside – the veggie was simply not prepared right and was closer to raw than cooked. It was difficult to use a fork with them, had to use a knife – sauce was meh. The cheesesteak rolls were really greasy and felt like they sat in the fridge for a good while, and the raviolis were unfortunately overcooked and sticky. We didn’t finish any of it. Two cocktails were ordered, and I am not sure what we got back but they were not up to par – it’s really hard to botch an old fashion, but it happened here. At that point we just asked for our check and left, there was no point in asking to rectify this – the employees looked like they did not care to put in any effort, they were too busy mingling out front by the hostess station.
Maybe I caught them at a bad time or something, because my experience is a sharp contrast to these reviews. If you visit, I hope it is better than what I dealt with. I don’t find myself ever coming back.
The hangover burger with side home salad, the Angus burger with coleslaw, and the cran apple salad. Everything is fresh, delicious and well made. My burger didn’t come out medium as I preferred but it wasn’t dry at all and the ingredients added extra flavor. Polite and attentive staff. Prices were moderate but on the higher side for any seafood dishes. Would come here again.
