Thankfully they were open late because we needed somewhere moderately priced with decent food to take my brother out for a birthday dinner. The food was a B-, service could have definitely been better and the atmosphere was average. Drinks could improve and steaks ordered were reasonable. Would go back but more so thankful for the late hours!

Hotel bar. Service is excellent. Chips are good, the CLE burger was tasty, fries are also good. Also had a chicken Cesar salad. Small selection of beer on tap, I had the local IPA, it was good. Open until 12, grill closes at 11pm.

Ordered the carbonara pasta. See picture at the bottom right of menu. What was served was bowtie pasta with Alfredo sauce. When it was pointed out that key ingredients listed on their own menu were missing in the dish, the attending server said that there would be no charge for the dish and asked how to make it better.
I asked to add the ingredients listed on the menu like crisp pancetta, roasted garlic, and the fresh scallions. He went in the kitchen and returned about 5 minutes later with a small dish containing fried ham and garlic. See picture. I didn’t have the courage to say anything else about the solution or dish.
I did not eat any of what was served.
The dish was removed from the bill.
The kitchen manager came to apologize and provided an explanation of short staff and the regular cook is not working, instead the salad person made the dish.
It appears to be okay for this restaurant and Marriott to serve and have their guests pay for:
1. Substandard food prep with the same cost if it had to be paid.
2. Serve and substitute ham instead of crispy pancetta listed as an ingredient in their menu.
Why would ham instead of pancetta solve the problem they created?
For the dish to work, the ingredients have to be incorporated and mixed in the kitchen.
Why burden the customer?
And for a carbonara sauce, it is very doubtful that eggs were used to make the alfredo sauce. Okay, it may be their own version of carbonara, but it’s still a fail, because the ingredients they list were missing.
3. Having the salad prep person make such a semi-complicated dish is not helpful to the guest who ultimately pays for the substandard product.
4. The manager and staff’s actions and Marriot’s choice unfortunately get these substandard reviews.
5. It would be best to offer a reduced item menu that can be prepared by whoever is in the kitchen rather than offending or irritating guests and worse collecting the full amount on a substandard dish.
6. Staff shortage is no excuse for poor food preparation because the price charged remains the same.
7. The concept is simple, provide what is advertised and be paid for a standard meal and service.

Went in with some friends to grab something late in the afternoon. Food was not as expected. I asked for a certain salad dressing. I got something totally different. The waitress disappeared. We wanted to get another drink. Couldn’t find anybody to wait on us. We did see one person was sitting on a cell phone. Ask for some more ice in my friends pop oh OK. She never got her rice. We paid our tab and left.

The restaurant has a vintage ambience , little bit of old world charm. I had a struggle to find Vegan & Vegetarian options at the restaurant during dinner and breakfast. On the day of my departure, I came across M lounge, Cleveland Marriott East, and I met Mrs Gwen, she was very kind to listen and quickly conjur a toasted vegetarian sandwich for me and I was very pleased by this gesture. It is disheartening that in this age, Vegan and Vegetarian still find it challenging to find a descent meal while traveling in the US.

My sister had her wedding and the reception here. It’s a very beautiful and clean place a lot of room for everyone who came there was no rush to end things. But then again I don’t know how long the rented the space but all I can say it was a beautiful day and everyone was happy.
