Our favorite is the peanut butter pie (I’m not even a peanut butter fan and I crush it everytime) but everything they have is delicious. We’ve tried almost all the cakes, bars, they have tarts, cookies, tons of options!
The owners are the kindest, and the desserts never dissapoint.They have online ordering and pre-order too!

Ed is amazing! He catered the desserts for our wedding and was incredibly helpful and friendly throughout the entire process. And the guests loved the desserts! Our venue threw our wedding cake away so we plan to start a new tradition of getting a new cake each year on our anniversary because it was that good!

River City Chocolate is a great local business. When going there, you are going to wonder if you are in the right place as it’s nestled in a more industrial building (they used to be a production kitchen exclusively for restaurant sales instead of retail). However, keep going, and you will find some of the tastiest treats. We met Joe – the baker – who is a wonderful person that we chatted with for a while and learned about the business, her career, and the items that she makes. You can tell she is passionate about the quality and ingredients. We decided to get 4 items to split, although we could have tried everything in the case because it looked that good. We had a slice of lemon decadence cake, strawberry crunch cake (tasted exactly like the old school ice cream bars), chocolate cheesecake bar, and the maximum cookie sandwich. All items are large portions enough to share between 2 people, and all are just the right balance and not sickeningly sweet. I usually am not a big fan of cake, but I loved both slices we got (please excuse the hole in the pink section of the strawberry one in my picture as I had a birthday candle in there – Joe would never sell anything with holes in it!). Definitely stop in and get some treats. You can also go on the website to reserve items or order ahead, full-size goodies.

Wow! Just wow! These desserts are delicious and taste very natural – no artificial flavors or hydrogenated fats. We ordered a s’more and a blondie. Their s’more is award winning and did not disappoint. This is a dessert worth the calories. Blondie was also delicious. We highly recommend and will be back. Oh… and don’t be alarmed by the industrial area of the fact the door might be locked and you need to call for them to open the door. Call… you won’t be disappointed.

This place is a hidden gem. Our first time this Saturday and is really delicious.. They are very friendly, kind and helpful. We live in Williamsburg and we were at River City Sportplex soccer game and by chance we came across this place. The cheesecake is delicious…we bought 5 sweets and all of them were very tasty. Excellent service and prices! 100% recommended and we will be back soon!

I recently worked with River City Chocolate to create a dessert option for a work event. Ed Conroy was a dream to work with. From tastings, to creating customized lettering to represent the event, to regular check-ins to make sure all the details were perfect- it was more (and better) than I expected going in. There were constant questions from guests asking where the treats came from and we were more than happy to tell everyone “River City Chocolate, right here in Chesterfield!” I highly recommend working with them for events, or just popping in a for a slice of cake. You won’t be disappointed. In fact, you’ll go back again and again!

Love this hidden gem in chesterfield! Their s’mores bar is SO good – it was my favorite. There’s no marshmallows – it’s made out of a Swiss merengue with marshmallow flavoring. Highly recommend!
