Not much to look at from the outside as shoppes go, but inside is where the magic is, and of course, what comes out to the customer—the tastiest, yummiest Italian Ice I’ve ever eaten. PLUS, the staff member who served us was just totally lovely. He let us first taste, and then met our request exactly. Served with a flourish and a beautiful smile! That was the best–thank you!

I just went to get a frozen limeade, I asked for strawberry and wasn’t aware that it would be an extra $4 to add strawberries. The total came up to $8 for a small frozen limeade. I politely asked then man what the extra charge was for & he rudely started explaining doing the most with hand gestures, bucking at me like an animal and speaking to me like I’m incompetent. Never in my life have I gone here and had ANYONE speak to me in that manner . I told him I didn’t want it and walked away that man is so rude and I hope you see this review you have the worst customer service ever and should not be working here! & 9 times out of 10 he wouldn’t have spoke to me in that manner if I had a male with me .

After going to the Crofton Rita’s, I tried this one since it’s closer to me. I think the prices are similar, which are a bit high but acceptable for an occasional treat. The gelatino was a bit taller here at Bowie Rita’s. Got mango and it was very tasty!

This is a cute ice cream spot. The workers are always friendly and they have a lot of flavors. It would be nice if they had more outdoor seating.

Horrible service.

For the blendinis (ice + custard + top in) we requested, there were barely any Oreo cookies top in that we asked for. When I mentioned that there is almost no cookie, she answered it’s inside the ice cream. I mixed the ice cream around and still saw only one or two cookie pieces and showed it to her. She rudely looked at me and said that it is extra to add more.

So they’re charging extra for this combo that I am already paying more for when basically they’d given me a Gelati (ice + custard)??

On top of all this, the cup is not even anywhere full. I had two spoons out of it before taking a pic, but still it’s clearly visible how much space there if left at the top…

So i went here to get some slushies and water ice. We got here around and in line at 9:40. There was a long line with lots of people trying to get things for there group of friends and kids. By the time we were served it was 10:05. They had this one guy working while another employee sat on their phone. They were only doing water ice because i don’t even know. 2mins before we were served the guy was like we’re closed, huh? We had been in line for 25mins. I know you want to go home and all but at least cut off the line, and serve everyone with stuff you know you have. Maybe schedule more people? You’re just get rid of it there is no need to lie, or be rude.

At my most recent trip to Rita’s, we were assisted by employee Caitlin. She did such a conscientious job preparing my mango gelati so it was neat and did not get all over the place. The challenge was to get the lid on securely. What a pleasant and competent employee. Pat on the back to Caitlin!

No no no this is crazy. The line is 45 minutes wait. This is summer please more workers. Then when you finally get to place your order the young lady was not pleasant. I do understand just a little bit that she might be tired. So management please get some help. Thank you for listening I had to let out my frustration.

Quite Possibly the Most Appalling Rita’s in the Region:: This particular Rita’s in Bowie is, regrettably, the most substandard location I’ve encountered across the entire franchise. It’s positively absurd — unheard of, really — for a branch to deny loyal patrons the opportunity to request or suggest flavours for future rotation. One would expect a modicum of flexibility, especially from a brand built upon variety and seasonal creativity. To make matters worse, I was met with an employee — a rather discourteous light-skinned young woman — who blatantly misrepresented the availability of certain flavours. The audacity of it. It’s one thing to be out of stock; it’s another entirely to fabricate information to cover incompetence. The flavour selection here is utterly uninspired and egregiously limited. Not a single cakey or biscuit-based option in sight — no birthday cake, no cookies and cream, nothing remotely indulgent. Even among the fruit-based offerings, they scarcely manage the basics. Where, pray tell, are apple-blueberry or a proper raspberry? These aren’t obscure concoctions; they’re standard in most respectable Rita’s locations. Let it be known: Laurel, Annapolis/Edgewater, Clinton, and nearly every shop across Baltimore County boast far superior selections and customer service. This Bowie branch, by contrast, is a culinary disappointment and a customer relations disaster. They advise patrons to “ring ahead” — as though phoning a Rita’s that never bothers to answer is a viable solution. Frankly, you might as well unplug the phone and spare us the illusion of accessibility. As a devoted Rita’s connoisseur who frequents the brand with almost religious consistency, I will henceforth take my custom elsewhere. This location has not only failed to deliver on quality, but has also demonstrated an appalling disregard for its clientele. Avoid, if you value your tastebuds — and your time.
