Enjoyable dinner and good service. The restaurant is a nice update to its previous menu and design. A more casual version of the restaurant groups other restaurant.
The Rita insalata has a really good dressing. The focaccia looked and smelled so good I had to order one.
The chicken wings are ok and just not a huge fan of having shells on prawns. The lamb was a good sized portion as well.
The pastas are really nice and are very good. The ravioli with the pine nuts were delicious, especially when you added the toasted sesame’s from the focaccia to give it a much needed Smokey depth.
All in all was good and will go back to try some more dishes.

We used to come here when it was Uccellino. First time visit Rita, we had a better experience. Love the prawns and clams, sauces are perfect with breads. Services are above and beyond. Will be back and try more different dishes.

Rita was an overall vibe! The lamb was a highlight. Other dishes we tried, not so memorable.
Excellent cosmo!
Service was very European, in the sense that it was very slow, but like they were doing it on purpose…
Almost a blasé tone from the service staff, just like in italia . My waiter made a stupendous wine recommendation!!!! He did a great job, i wish he was allowed to smile. Overall, very knowledgeable staff.
Daniel Costa reheats his nachos, once again. I feel like a new one pops up every month. and they’re all exactly the same. Like literally same menu items and classic cocktails. It feels lazy to open the same exact restaurant 8x, not re-innovate any part, and watch people gobble it up. <— hater remark. Despite my critique, I still have a good time as a somewhat regular patron of all the aforementioned establishments (Mimi and her sequels & prequels).
I dont love the bathrooms. No flat surface for your phone. This actually drove me to write this review. Would love a phone shelf if im in cocktail attire.
– hate the sink
– stalls leftover from uccellino (understandably lazy)
– if you have more than 2 drinks in you, all of the doors to leave the stall area become disorienting, i need a bigger exit sign.
My biggest tip: try to get upstairs seating!!!! I loveed the upstairs corner booth by the mirror
At the end of the day, rita is way better than uccellino ever was. I like rita! I guess you could eat dinner here for the purposes of a culinary experience but i think that this is a place you go for the atmosphere. Its the vibe factory. and for that reason, in the end, …. A true trattoria is born!
Thanks guys!

All you need in a good modern, downtown Italian restaurant. Music was bumpiN but not too much. Servers were very nice and upbeat, with good menu and wine knowledge (gave some tasty suggestions for food and drink). The food itself was delicious and portioned for sharing, so get a few different plates if you want to leave full. The lamb chops are very good, was too late to get a proper pic in before we finished them all…
Only suggestion is to give a bit more space between the tables, as it was very close quarters. Luckily, the tables around were friendly and we had some good convo on dish choices.

Had the best experience here for my birthday dinner! The food is absolutely phenomenal and the service was also great! Would definitely recommend getting the pane siciliano & ricotta, the fried peppers were great, and the mafaldine hazan was the best pasta! Definitely worth checking out!

We are staying at a hotel down town and looked for restaurants close by, we were greeted and sat immediately. The drinks were delicious and quick to come out. We ordered the prawns and a plate of gnocchi to share. The flavours were unbelievable, everything was fresh and delicious. We will definitely be back next time we are in Edmonton.

Celebrated a friend’s birthday on Jan 31st and had a phenomenal time start to finish! Our server was prompt, professional, and had great personality. The room itself was tasteful and “vibrantly cool”. Timing of the meals and the service itself were perfect and the portions were ideal. We shared 2 antipasti and 3 pastas and left very full. Only point of feedback was that the sesame bread, while delicious, was a bit tough to cut and left quite a mess. Otherwise, still a wonderful experience.
Thank you!

Beautiful dinner last night at Rita to celebrate my husbands birthday. The food was incredible. My husband had the Paccheri and I had the Matagliata, and we started with the Mortadella and Provola. Food was absolutely delicious, and the portions were reasonable. We both left feeling satisfied but not too full. We also finished with the chocolate mousse that was to die for. Our server was incredibly warm and attentive – and had a few extra special touches during the meal to celebrate his birthday :). We arrived to a lovely card, and there was a candle in our mousse- I love little touches like that!
The only downside was the tables were kind of close together – but otherwise the atmosphere was beautiful and sexy. It doesn’t feel like you’re in Edmonton while you are there!
