I had a dinner in this fabulous place. I ordered the pork leg with sour-sweet souce. I asked to replace the potatoes with vegetables and the kitchen suggested to have the local spinach instead. They cared about me. The suggestion from the waiter were great, well explained and welcoming. The food itself was tasty – simple, to the core of the food, not over sophisticated – aligned with the core of the Italian cuisine.
The path to the restaurant from the outside is a fun of its own – do walk it!

Unbelievable place – legendary location, beautiful design, great food and generous schef. The best restaurant we’ve been to in Italy!

I was really looking forward to lunch here and was so disappointed. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere. It started out ok, but we did notice while sitting there that the lady serving seemed very stressed and other tables waited a long time for most things. It completely fell apart when I waited about 10 minutes after my partners arrived for my main course. It was obvious when we pointed this out that they had forgotten it. Then it was luke warm and the side order of garden green beans also arrived and they were from frozen beans. Obviously we like to eat together not separately . They were gracious to not charge for my main or the beans but this still doesn’t really make up for this awful experience. Honestly can’t recommend this place.

We found this place by chance, and literally because we had been turned down by another restaurant which was already full. We were very lucky to have been turned down.
This restaurant is in the cutest little street, with a living room as an entrance.
Everything is tastefully arranged, decor-wise, in the style of old Umbrian and Tuscan country houses.
The service is excellent, Maurizio is the most gracious host, being present but not invasive.
The food is spectacular: the quality of the produce is really high (you can taste it in the raw produce of one of the appetizers, where there is no place to hide). Portions are really generous, you’ll walk out very well fed.
And the price is surprisingly low when compared to the decor of the place, and the service, both very classy, and, of course, the quality of the food.
Highly recommended!
UPDATE
Since we were so happy the first time, we went back for more and tried different dishes from the menu.
We were not disappointed: the tortino the ricotta and pecorino was delicious as well as the Greek salad. But the costata di scottona was so satisfying: a great produce perfectly cooked, it was like butter in my mouth.
Once again, highly recommended!

Excellent. Beautiful restaurant in an ancient cellar. You can see the old Roman road through the glass plates in the restaurant. The food was delicious, everything perfect. Alicja , our server, was a ray of sunshine. She Improved our experience immeasurably. Give her a raise.

Coming back to Italy for vacation (I’m Italian), stopping by in Amelia to visit some friends, is it right dinner time. Ordered fresh summer truffle tagliolini, and it came out like flavored truffle oil dressed pasta with a reminiscence of fresh truffle on top ?! ( don’t know because they didn’t sliced at the table) in a lake of butter and flavored oil. To be honest I ate them, after 20hours traveling… 14 euros for this is a big jump, maybe for the worst pasta I had in decades. Didn’t try anything else, I just had the most simple plate on menu and that’s all.

The Fettuccine coupled with a local red wine was excellent. The host made sure that I was happy with the meal and even showed me the hidden Roman tunnel that ran under the town. The lemon sorbet that followed was the best digestive.

We were served cold carbonara. Waiter was friendly but slow. Very nice atmosphere. Was really looking forward to my first authentic experience, but left disappointed.
