We visited as a group of three and were very satisfied with our experience. We paid a total of €84, which is quite reasonable given the quality and portion sizes. There is a cover charge (coperto) of €3 per person. For drinks, we had a red wine for €15 and a Coke Zero for €5.

As for the food, the Florentine-style beef was both delicious and very filling; the portion price was €22. We also ordered a pizza for €11, which was also great. They served complimentary bread and oil as an appetizer, which was a nice touch. The service and hospitality were excellent, and we were seated immediately without having to wait in line.

We had dinner at Buca Niccolini and enjoyed it so much that we went back for lunch another day. I had the ravioli and the man had the T-bone steak (which came with roasted potatoes and a salad, all for €20). The insalata mista, which was nothing special (iceberg lettuce, red cabbage, and a few cherry tomatoes). Not really worth ordering. The house wine is great. We had pizza when we went back for lunch, and it was AMAZING. I had the margarita with arugula and the man had a sausage pizza. Just fantastic. Our server, Arianna, was lovely, too! We can’t recommend Buca Niccolini highly enough!

Searching for a place to eat, we stumbled upon this restaurant on a Thursday evening.
The selection was impressive, it seemed we could try everything we wanted, including typical and traditional Tuscan dishes. The atmosphere was pleasant, the waiters were friendly, so we chose a table outside (we had our dog with us). Our experience was flawless!
The waiters were busy all evening (it’s a large place with many guests) but they always paid attention to everything and brought every order quickly.
All the food we tried was excellent. The fried polenta with chicken liver pâté (Crostini di polenta alla toscana con paté di fegatini) was well seasoned and made for an interesting warm starter. The main dishes were also well prepared and very enjoyable: both the pici with wild boar sauce (Pici del Chianti al cinghiale) and the tripe in red sauce (Trippa alla Fiorentina) were delicious. We also tried a pizza: the Pizza Firenze with Tuscan salami and pecorino, and it was an excellent choice.
This restaurant was a great find. We all had a wonderful experience!

We ordered the pizza, as recommended but a staff member as one of her favourites. A salad and some drinks. The food was nothing short of excellent. The service was awesome and the barman made me a version of an aperol spritz that he prefers for me to try, and it was spot on. We had an great lunch, in a great place with amazing people and atmosphere. Loved it, we would definitely go again and again!

If one’s used to eating Italian food in the US, one might be surprised to learn that some of the most famous dishes aren’t widely eaten in Italy, as they differ from region to region and even from city to city within the same region.

Florence, the capital of Tuscany, attracts millions of visitors annually; it’s no wonder some aspects of its food and wine sector have become commercial.

Florentine cuisine is bold, rustic, and rooted in cucina povera (peasant cooking), transforming simple ingredients into hearty, flavorful dishes. Expect robust meats, fresh seasonal produce, and artisanal cheeses to feature heavily on menus, with dishes that reflect Tuscany’s rural traditions and love of high-quality ingredients.

Situated in the historic heart of Florence, just a stone’s throw from the Duomo, this establishment originated more than 100 years ago as a typical tavern in the ancient cellars (buca). Only in the middle of the twentieth century, Buca Nicolini received an exit to the street and took the form of a restaurant where my partner, our friends, family member, and I decided on dinner.

We stumbled upon this restaurant on our way from shopping and sightseeing without a reservation, and it was the best decision.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the staff and got a table for 6 in the cozy back room off the main dining room with a casual and relaxed vibe.

Their menu was extensive, offering traditional cuisine, the best of Tuscany.
For starters, we decided on the Bruschetta and Fantasia Crostini. For our main meal, we opted for warm Seafood Salad, Risotto with Zucchini, Risotto with Seafood, Steak with Green Pepper Sauce, Garden Salad, Side of Roasted Potatoes, and Steak with Roasted Potatoes. Complimentary bread started our meal.

The food was absolutely amazing. Everything was always cooked beyond expectation with a perfect balance of flavor for each meal.

Our server was Arianna, who took such great care of us. She was warm, attentive, and offered fantastic recommendations. Her friendly smile and professionalism made our meal even more enjoyable.

Prices were very reasonable and the portions healthy. To end our meal, they gave us limoncello, which was a nice touch!

This was our favorite restaurant; we even had dinner the following evening. We recommend this place.

We had an unforgettable breakfast right in front of the stunning Duomo of Florence — the view alone is worth the visit, but the experience was made truly exceptional by the service. The food was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented — from buttery croissants and perfectly brewed cappuccinos to fresh fruit and warm pastries.

A special shout-out to Arianna, who took such great care of us. She was warm, attentive, and offered fantastic recommendations. Her friendly smile and professionalism made our morning even more enjoyable.

If you’re in Florence, this is the perfect spot to start your day — great food, unbeatable view, and top-notch service! Highly recommended! ️☕⛪

This restaurant was phenomenal. The atmosphere was great and the service was exceptional. We loved the food so much that the next day we went again and even brought some friends that we met. We had the T-bone steak both times. Raul the hostess was very friendly, he even gave us complimentary prosecco. Highly recommend this restaurant when you’re in Florence

to be fair, this place serve the best T-bone steak that I have ever try. While the employees is really nice, we kind of disappointed that the seating fee is quite expensive (€3)
