I ordered through door dash for the first time tonight and was delightfully surprised at how good this was! I ordered General Tao’s , orange chicken, bbq fried rice and they were all very good! Real chicken used in the dishes! This is the closest I’ve come to east coast Chinese food (nj/ny) I would absolutely recommend! The portions are generously big!!

I have the gift vouchers that can be used in 99 locations in Lake Forest, CA. I noticed that Rising Sun Chinese food restaurant is one of them. After visiting the OC library at Foothill Ranch, I took my family to dine in on Saturday.
It is the small business and I like to support because the front desk staff is very friendly. We ordered the following items for 5 people (3 adults and 2 kids).
Thai Curry Chicken ($13.65) with rice
Happy Family ($14.95) with rice
Salty & Pepper Pork Chop($14.95) with rice
We waited 20 minutes and were surprised to see the big portion size of Salty & Pepper Pork Chop. My kids liked Thai Curry chicken a lot. We were satisfied with the entrees we ordered.
The only thing I don’t like is that the restroom is not open for the customers.
If you would like to buy lunch or dinner to go , Rising Sun is a good one to begin with. Just give it a try with 3 entrees I mentioned above. You won’t feel disappointed.
Will go back definitely.

The food is very good, great service as well. The portions are good for two people. We got the orange chicken, fried rice and a small side of chow mien and it was really good, and enough for two people or three.

Relatively fresh and tasty, and much better than the typical Panda Express in the area. Entrees are made fresh to order. Their lunch specials available from 11 to 3 pm are the best if you are on your own. Dinner entrees are available but a little more pricey but with a lot more food (bring a friend or partner to dine). I especially like their take on Orange chicken served with Chow Mein. Doordash and to-go available.

This is the best Chinese food we have ever had in California!! We recently moved out here from New York, and we were just about to give up on finding a good Chinese restaurant out here. I’m so glad we found this place. The pork fried rice was amazing and cooked by Wok not steamed, the general Tso’s chicken was fresh and cooked perfectly with just the right amount of crust and the perfect color, and the Lo Mein noodles were fat with just the perfect amount of sauce. For anyone looking for a New York style Chinese spot, this is the one!!! For the og’s that can tell good Chinese food by just the color, this was my plate. And it tasted bomb!! We will definitely be back!!

It looks like they have a very convenient lunch service… which we just missed getting to try, however the regular menu was excellent as well. We hardly had to wait for it, and the portions were quite large, which is something I look for having a big appetite. They also had canned cream soda, a rare treat for me. Overall I quite enjoyed it!
