Found this place on Yelp while searching in the area for some good BBQ. I asked Michael at the window to give me his best to try. He recommended the two meat plate with sliced beef, sausage, baked beans, and potato salad. It was served with their regular bbq sauce and sweet & spicy. I preferred the sweet & spicy, but they were both delicious on these perfectly cooked meats. The sliced beef literally held together for dipping yet fell apart in your mouth. It was so tender and the flavor was exactly what I came searching for. I ate at one of the three picnic tables they’ve got outside. Someone overheard me say I was from out of town, asked how I found this local secret, and reaffirmed that it was the best in town. Well it sure was the best I’ve ever had! Their customer service was outstanding as well.

This is one of Texas best kept secrets! We had the ribs omgosh the food was amazing! As good as or even better than Salt Lick. If you know barbecue, then you know. The service was fabulous very friendly. We really enjoyed sitting out in the yard visiting. Thank you for such an amazing meal.

The food was awesome here. My husband had a two meat plate with sliced brisket and sausage, baked beans and smoked Mac and Cheese. I had a chopped beef sandwich and potato salad. Nothing bad here! The food was right up there with the best pit masters. The owner was extremely nice as well. Job well done!!

The BBQ, was Texas tradition the sauce had a hint of sweet, perfect amount of smoke.. The brisket was butter, perfect amount of lean and fat. The ribs didn’t fill your teeth, with slivers of meat, that worry you to death until you find a toothpick. They had a 5 chew melt in your mouth. The smoke combined with the sauce made a fantastic BBQ experience. I highly recommend giving this a try. The only downside you can enjoy this in your car or the tables out back. So passing thru might be a little challenging..

Found this a little barbecue place today. In Hillsborough, we just moved here. Owners were great barbecue excellent.
We had brisket sausage macaroni beans in cold cold slaw.All excellent definitely.Will be back to try the ribs.They were out due to the cold weather.People stocking up

I’m Texan born and raised and this was truly some of the best brisket I’ve ever had. It’s super tender and falls apart even putting it on your fork. The smoked mac and cheese is excellent, and the coleslaw is delicious. Very friendly service, they were able to get a large order out quickly. Highly recommend coming here if you’re in Hillsboro!

My favorite place to eat in Hill County! I eat there at least once a week. Staff is very friendly but the meat is soooo good! They offer smoked turkey legs on Tuesdays. Try it, you won’t be disappointed.

Wow this place is a hidden gem, it is first class old school bbq, I have eaten at all top 10 bbq joints in texas. This place is not on texas monthly list but it damn sure should be, their sliced brisket is probably the best I have ever had, tenderness, smoke ring and bark were all 10 out of 10, do yourself a favor and give them a try you wont regret it.

The meat was absolutely wonderful! Brisket soft and juicy, perfectly made ribs. The service was very warm and friendly and my friend and I even got an extra rib just that she could try it Totally worth a little trip off the beaten path. Atmosphere category is a little unfair. There is no sitting at the place, you just grab and go.
