Read all of the other reviews and gave it a try. It was good. Very friendly staff, quick service. Prices were fine. (Credit card fee is 0.85. no problem.) We both had the sampler, the Cole Slaw is excellent, liked being able to try all the sauces.

I am a fan of BBQ… needn’t be fancy… but it’s gotta be GOOD! Stopped by for my first visit to the newly opened Rip’s Family BBQ in Liberty on the way home the other night to pick up a late Carry-Out… What a pleasant surprise!
Even though it was close to closing time… and my first visit, replete with all the ‘first timer’ questions.. lol, the Staff was friendly and helpful throughout.
Ordered 1/2 Rack Baby Back Ribs and the Sampler Platter (chicken,pork,brisket)…
The ribs were excellent… very meaty with good smoke and rub.. fall-off-the-bone goodness… The Sampler Platter was a pretty hefty helping of some very good pulled pork, shredded chicken & beef brisket.
Meals come with choice of two homecrafted sides… Gotta say the Rips Baby Bakers were standouts… they also make a VERY tasty cole slaw and better than average baked beans.

Good bbq, I love that its not covered in sauce and its smoky and delicious. I am from the south and it taste like home. My only dislike was the Alabama sauce, its a mayo based white sauce with a twang, the flavor was okay but the sauce was runny, however the pulled chicken was so good it didn’t even need the sauce. My son had ribs and they were fall off the bone goodness. I also tried my husbands pulled pork and it was great… Next time I am going to try the banana pudding. We will definitely be back.

I was working in Richmond, Decided to give this place a try after reading the reviews. I was not disappointed, this place is awesome!! Literally fall of the Bone ribs and all home made delicious sides. Family owned and operated, they were a super nice family. Would definitely come back!

Normally not a rib fan, but these are so tender and delicious! I keep ordering them. Love the coleslaw, baby bakers, Mac and cheese and scallop taters. Must get the sampler platter to taste all 3 meats! Super delicious!

This BBQ place is very out of the way for me, but I don’t care. I love coming here and getting their ribs! They are honestly some of the best ribs I’ve ever had in my life.
One somewhat negative thing about the ribs is that sometimes they run out. I’ve driven an hour and a half to get some and then they didn’t have any lol. I guess that is what happens when I don’t call ahead.

Just ate here for the first time and it was delicious! We will definitely eat here again. Pulled pork and Memphis sauce was really good but the pulled pork egg rolls were to die for! Highly recommend!

It gets 3 stars because it’s the only place in town to get bbq. The quality is average, with a few side dishes being above average. Seating isn’t all that great and when I went they had live music and the music was a little annoying. It was rock. I think it should at least be blues (if anything). I will go back sometime, maybe.
