Rione XIII is a Roman-style trattoria tucked into Seattle’s Capitol Hill. Known for handmade pasta, rustic simplicity, and wood-fired dishes, it brings the spirit of Rome’s Trastevere neighborhood to the Northwest. With cozy tables and honest cooking, it’s a neighborhood favorite for casual Italian done right.
Wood-fired pizzas & other reimagined Roman fare served in a renovated 1920s brick corner market.

We got here around 4:30PM on a Saturday afternoon for their 4-6PM daily happy hour and were seated outside with no issues.
For two people, we shared the Funghi pizza (8/10) and a beer and an Old Fashioned each. The Funghi pizza was very sharable, had a good balance of truffle oil and cheese and mushroom, and a nice crispy and not too thick crust. Would definitely come back for the happy hour pizza. I wouldn’t get a cocktail again – it was pretty watered down and had too much ice. The beer was just poured out of a can and so $8 for an IPA is quite expensive. I’d definitely come back and order some other things from the happy hour menu aside from beverages.

The food? Incredible. Every dish was vibrant, balanced, and beautifully presented—clearly made with care. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in both flavor and finesse. Because it was a special occasion, the team added little touches throughout the meal that made us feel truly celebrated, and we never once had to flag anyone down—water topped off, courses timed just right, and thoughtful check-ins at perfect moments.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, ideal for date nights, birthdays, or any “treat yourself” dinner. Rione XIII nails that rare combination of exceptional hospitality, delicious food, and genuine attention to detail. We left happy, full, and already planning our next visit. Couldn’t recommend it more!
The staff were super friendly and were probably the best thing about the place. I found that the environment was overly loud.
It definitely did not feel like one small plate and two drinks was worth $68.
