We tried Founders for the first time about a week ago. It was… fine. I think there’s a lot of potential here, and I think the food would have been good, if it had been hot.
We were there in the early afternoon, after any potential lunch rush. There were a couple of tables with people at it but it definitely wasn’t busy by any means. This is what made the lukewarm food so confusing. It felt like it had been sitting there for a while before it was brought out.
Also, side note, how is this an “Irish Pub” if there’s no Irish food?
Anyway, we started with Pretzel Sticks. It came out the same time as our meals. I got the Grilled Cheese with Ham and my husband got the Grinder. Everything was fine, but lukewarm. I would be interested in trying again if the food came out hot and fresh.

Nice day to sit out on the patio, but Randy was on fire playing some angry music. Even so, the food and drink were enjoyable. Bonus that they are on the DSM pub pass this year. Free beer!

Haven’t been in a while, won’t be back to eat. There weren’t very many people when we went, 1 other table inside and a couple outside took way way to long for the waitress to come get our drink orders. Ordered a draft beer, warm. Told the waitress she giggled at me. The appetizer came out Luke warm. Food – disgusting. Burnt, small, barely chewable rubbery pucks of meat. Have pico on the menu on a burger-the don’t know how to make pico, apparently just throw raw onions and tomatoes on it. If you’re in the area and want a can/bottle of beer go for it, but if you want to eat go elsewhere.

Unfortunately the service was poor. The food was mediocre and the atmosphere was just OK outside on their patio on a late September Sunday morning when there was very few customers. I would not recommend this place.

7 years later we tried again (because it was the only option on a Sunday afternoon. Still took 10 minutes to get water. We were told they left the fryer in all night so the chicken tenders were borderline burnt. Also their draft pints are in an extra thick glass and its probably more like 12 – 14 oz size. We’ll eat at Casey’s before going here.
2016 visit: We walked through the front door to the patio where we waited five mintutes with absolutely no greeting while another table that came in after us was served immediately. We were extremely disappointed with the complete lack of service, so we walked out after sitting for 8 mintues with no recognition of our patronage.

This place has potential but just by looking at the food photos, it’s an absolute joke. Best advice to ownership is fire everyone working in that kitchen and start over from scratch.

Our group came for a little informal meeting and sat outside on the patio. Two of us ordered the cheese burger special which we had to explain to our waitress what the special was since she didn’t know there was a special. “Oh, there’s a special? Oh, whatever”, she said. Three others ordered the pepper jack cheese balls. And three beers, one soda, and two waters were ordered. After 30 minutes of not even getting our drinks I went inside to the bar and complained to another bartender and while I was doing that the original waitress went back to our table to get everyone’s order again but she stopped me while I was complaining to the other waitress to tell me she just took our order again but she was going to follow me back out again because she couldn’t remember what it was and she said she’d write it down this time. And then came to verify the order one more time. So she’s taken our order 4 times now! The 2nd waitress brought our drinks to us then. So our original waitress finally brings out our food and she says, “look fast service!” Wth?!? And guess what she brought our table, 7 cheese burger specials! So the people that ordered the cheese balls said they’d just eat a special instead now because by this time everyone is starving. The 2nd waitress, the good waitress/not high waitress brought us all another round of drinks without us having to flag any one down, kudos to her, she saved the day! But our original waitress came over then and she actually complained about the 2nd waitress and blamed everything on her! Again, what drug was she on tonight? Then she says she’s going to get the bill and we told her we weren’t paying for the 5 extra cheese burger special. She said, “well you guys ate all but 2 of them.” We tell her, “yes because you didn’t bring the cheese balls out.” Then she said, “oh, I’ve got that order in for you now.” We said we were leaving and forget them but….she brings an order of cheese balls and two to go containers which one was full of ketchup and mustard. We waved the good waitress over and gave her a tip and as soon as we did that our high waitress came over with the bil. Of course our bill was incorrect!! Shocker! We got the good waitress to handle the bill and got most of the food knocked off and got the extra drinks that magically appeared on our bill off too. Obviously, there’s a waitress there that shouldn’t be a waitress period. Oh boy….We’ve been there before and have had great experiences but tonight…tonight was something I’ve never experienced in my life. ♀️ ♀️

Found it via the Pub Pass, it was a Sunday so got their special, omelets, hassbrowns texas toast and a bloody mary for $10, bargain. Got a couple beer chasers. Great place, great patio. A little ways from home, but will probably be back.

We reserved Founder’s Irish Pub for a wedding rehearsal dinner upstairs, and it turned out fantastic. We were able to use the area to our liking, decorate it beforehand, work directly with the staff on what food and drinks we would serve, and everything worked out perfectly. We had plenty of space, the food was delicious, hot, ready, and easy to serve to our guests. The staff remained there to help us out with drinks and anything else we needed, and everything was seamless and simple for us. The downstairs environment was also energetic, accommodating, and fun, we got a chance to play some pool as well. We’d only been here once now, but we loved it. Thanks to the staff for helping us and being awesome!
