Always a great experience! I’ve been supporting this family-owned gem since their very first location in Corona, Queens (now closed), then followed them to Huntington Station, and now to this third spot. Siblings Rudy and Esther are owners and they treat you family. The food always tastes like there’s a Cuban grandmother in the kitchen working her magic–flavorful, comforting, and made with love. The service is attentive, drinks are solid and the rustic Cuban decor adds to the charm (bonus: chairs are actually comfy!) I have to make my way there for lunch because I heard they have an amazing lunch special. So glad to see them thriving and growing!

Ps. Shredded and then fried yucca with avocado dipping sauce is a new app and a must try!

On a Hot July Sunday afternoon, my friend, Joe, asked to go to Rincon Criollo. I like Cuban food so I said yes. When you drive up to this authentic restaurant, it has a classic Cuban look. Inside is very comfortable. It is not noisy. Floors are wooden and the decoration takes you back to Havana. The menu is very simple.

We had two appetizers. The Tostones with shredded flank steak was amazing and the Spanish Sausage was equally good. The flavors reflected Cuba so well.

We had the grilled chicken with onions. My friend had grilled Liver. Both were done perfectly. The rice and black beans were so good. The portions were more than you could eat.

The dessert menu was so inviting. I wanted one of everything. The caramel flan was so rich and delicious. That with an expresso and Sambucca made for an amazing end to a great meal. My friend chose the Churros with chocolate. I stole one. It was hot and fresh and beyond good. With the bill came a simple Chocolate Liquor, very classy.

This is a moderately priced place. Very reasonable for the quality and service.

The service staff was very good. The atmosphere was simple and very friendly. This is a place you want to try over and over again.

The bathrooms were clean, which always gets the 5th star.

Thanks for a great time. Rincon Criollo

Huge shoutout to Luigi for providing the best service ever!! Good service is one of the top reasons we will be back.

I had gone to their Corona location before they closed and loved it. Since we were in the area, I suggested to my husband we should grab Cuban and boy was it a great idea.

We started off with the Cuban sandwich followed by Bistec Empanizado y filete de pescado de rincón criollo. First bite into the Cuban sandwich… we were in love! The cheese pulled like the commercials you see and there just something about the bread that makes you crave more with each bite. 10/10!

Bistec Empanizado.. crispy, oh so crispy yet not oily at all!! We loved how tender the meat is.

Filete de Peacado.. cod drenched in butter. How could we not love this one?? Meat was so fresh and tender that you really do crave more each time.

All the food were 10/10 and service another 11/10! I highly recommend this place.. it’s so family friendly and if it’s your bday, you can let them know and they’ll sing for you! Great for family gatherings and amazing Cuban food!!

Went to Rincon Criollo for my son’s birthday. I’ve been there before for a large birthday party. Please take into account the large party was about 40 people and the service was very good. I enjoyed this time more because it was only a table of 5 and the service was even better. The croquettes were excellent and the Vaca Frita with maduros was also excellent. Oh, I forgot…the Mojito was sooooo good. Muddled lime and mint for sure. And of course, we embarrassed our adult son with a very festive birthday celebration with the staff…bingo and thank you! Overall, a great meal and good time was had by all. Highly recommended. Muchas gracias!!

Very good experience. My wife had a mojito which she really enjoyed. I had a pale ale beer. I ordered roast pork which was very tender and moist. My wife got some type of seasoned steak which she enjoyed . For an appetizer we ordered bacalau which was excellent. The waiter was super attentive and friendly. Really pretty restaurant and great atmosphere. We had an above average experience

This place is a hidden gem. I’ve been looking for a good Cuban restaurant for some time. I ordered han croquetas for an event to try them out. I arrived early and the Mgr and staff were very welcoming while I waited, offering me something to drink. I decided to order 2 Cubanos to go, they dis not disapoint. I returned the following week with my husband for dinnerTues night. I forgot and lived the toasted bread! The server was so sweet and patient. I had the Tues Special, ropa vieja, rice, white beans and yuca. Hubby had breaded pork chops, moro, and tostones. I loved the family style dining which made it easy to share. For dessert I had arroz dulce, it was great, only wish the portion was bigger (thats just me) lol and he had flan which was just ok. I had a passion fruit mojito! Delicious and hubby had a Presidente beer. At the end the gave us each a small shot of coffee dessert. It was prices well and worth every penny. The atmosphere was great decor and music just right. We will definitely return.

First time dining at this new location for the restaurant. I was impressed. The stuffed plantains were delicious, a perfect starter. Meaty, balanced seasoning and made all the better with a green chili sauce.

The black beans were savory, the oxtail unctuous, and the liver savory and moist.

Highly recommended!

Reminisce the staple of Jackson Heights. I’ve visited the Huntington location and the new one in New Hyde Park, and the food and service are consistently excellent. If you’re in the mood for Cuban cuisine, be sure to stop by—you won’t be disappointed! The after dinner shot is the bomb!!

I contacted Rincon Criollo for a funeral luncheon and was connected with Rudy. Rudy was incredible to work with. He was extremely kind, courteous and flexible. He was very responsive and did whatever he could to make planning easy during a difficult time. Everything was set up as discussed. The food and drinks were delicious and service was great as well. I love supporting businesses with owners like Rudy. Will definitely be back for many more occasions.
