Very nice and new pizza restaurant, started in Connecticut. The hot oil pizza is amazing, got it as the server recommended with cherry peppers and italian sausage. Also tried the hot honey and pepperoni pizza. For appetizer, the philly cheesesteak egg rolls were a tasty start. The only thing that needs improvement is the ranch, would be nice if it was a more flavorful and homemade recipe. The peanut butter pie was 5 stars also, definitely a great way to finish the meal. Servers were very friendly and helpful.

Riko’s has quickly become our new favorite spot for pizza! We live about 20 minutes away and until we discovered Riko’s we made it to CB maybe twice a year. After checking the place out in November we’ve been weekly. Everyone is always friendly and we’ve had great service at the bar and tables. There are TVs everywhere so a great place to catch a game. They have a decent liquor, wine, and beer selection and carry one non-alcoholic can (Sam Adams IPA). The wings (baked but crispy) and meatballs are our go to apps though the blue cheese for the wings is not good. I get that it’s a franchise and they probably use the same dressing across the board but mediocre dressing can really ruin a good wing. I now order a side of blue cheese crumbles for the wings. Ok, my one negative is out of the way. The pizzas are bar pie style – super thin crust with sauce, cheese, and toppings to the edge with a charred bottom. It’s my favorite style and not something that I’ve found in Wilmington. It’s very similar to one of my favorite bar pies at the Jersey shore. Our number one favorite is the Hot Honey (pepperoni, ricotta, mozzarella, hot honey) followed by the Chicken Pizza with Riko’s drizzle and the Hot Oil Pizza (add sausage). We’ve also tried the White Pie, Anti-Pasto as a pizza, Margherita, and 4-Meat and all are on the “would order again” list. As far as salads go, the Anti-Pasto and Chicken Caesar are both delicious and big enough to share. We typically dine in but ordered online over the holidays. Our order was ready when we got there and they have a take out window right by the entrance that makes picking up carryout a breeze. I’ve been telling everyone I know about Riko’s and can’t wait for the weather to warm up to take advantage of the patio!

I was very excited to see Riko’s in Carolina Beach. I have been going to the one on Hope Street in Stamford CT for years. The bar style pizza was delicious!!! This was only their 4th day open. Service was great and the place was hopping . The pizza was just as I remembered.. They are famous for their hot oil pizza but the sausage is my favorite. We tried a few different ones. We also had the fresh mozzarella salad which had delicious roasted red peppers in it.

Ate during their soft opening week on a Friday shortly after 5pm. The restaurant filled up and there was a small crowd of people waiting for a table by 6:30 PM. It is a lot more spacious outdoors vs. indoors. No roof cover outdoors unless you sit at the bar. Luckily the sun was down and there was a nice breeze during our dinner. If you happen to have the sticky, disposable kid placemats, they do not stick on the outdoor tables.
Pizza dough is high-quality flour (secret recipe) and made with New York water. It took 10 years to perfect the flour recipe. The dough is matted, poked and put on an oiled double pan, then cooked in a conveyer oven at 590 degrees for 9 minutes.
We ordered the Margherita pizza with an addition of Riko’s signature sauce for a $2 upcharge and the Nashville hot chicken pizza. There is only one size of pizza. Two pizzas were just enough for me, my partner, and our toddler. They were both great, super crispy. I liked how the sauce and cheese covered a majority of the crust. The Nashville hot chicken pizza was spicy, but tolerable. I liked the sweet and spicy pickles and the ranch sauce on the Nashville pizza.
High chairs are available and there is a baby changing table in the handicap stall.
They have an app where you can earn points, but it wasn’t up and running yet for the Carolina Beach location.
The owner Jay stopped by to chat with us, who was very nice. The only negative of our dinner experience was our waitress, who was slow, not attentive or friendly. Fortunately, the owner made up for her lack of customer service.
This would be the place to go to if you’re looking for high-quality crispy pizza.

Rico’s Pizza is a gem in Carolina Beach! We tried the Nashville Hot Chicken Pizza and the Mediterranean Chicken Salad, and both were absolutely delicious — full of flavor and perfectly prepared. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere made the whole experience even better. I can already picture coming back this fall to enjoy some great food while watching football on the weekends. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

We have been dying to try this place ever since we heard they were coming to Carolina Beach and our first order here did not disappoint!! The pizza was delightfully crispy and thin and the sauce had the perfect balance of flavor. We also got an order of hot honey wings which were probably the best wings we have had in Wilmington. Great quality chicken, out-of-this-world sauce, and cooked perfectly. This is our new go-to pizza joint in Wilmington!!

As somebody who has eaten at the Original Rikos, I have to say it’s about time the South got some good bar pie. Oh how I have missed that thin crust and hot oil. Our server was awesome, wish I could remember her name. But I got to speak with Michelle and Alex and talked about some of the same problem we know and our old stomping grounds. I came from Myrtle Beach just to get this pizza and it did not disappoint. I even took a second one home for football tomorrow.
Great job and awesome atmosphere. This is the way it’s supposed to be done.

I’m 50/50 on this place. The first clam pizza that I ordered 2 weeks ago was pretty good. Today I ordered the same thing and it was terrible. First of all, it was covered in grease and hardly any clams. If I wanted a bacon pizza, I would have ordered one. Even worse, they used a tomato sauce base instead of olive oil and garlic. Get your kitchen staff squared away!
Edit: Here is a picture of my recent order and where it belongs, the dumpster. I gave this place a third try and again my order was incorrect. Despite being the only person at the bar while waiting for my order to be fixed, it took over 5 minutes to get a beer. The staff was too busy watching a video on someone’s phone. Then I spoke to the GM Michelle about my experience and she was very rude and snotty.
This restaurant is incompetent from the top down. You can’t treat customers like this and expect to stay in business. Especially when your product is Totino’s frozen pizza level quality.
