It’s been a while since I saw the cute little old horse trailer converted into a mobile food operation. It was at a catering event at Village Greens, and as setting up I had a chance to talk to the owners, Vince and Brenda, about their limited menu.
Choice of cod (all the time) or halibut (Fridays), shoestring coated fries, comes with homemade tartar sauce and Brenda also makes the coleslaw. I usually order a three piece, as the chunks are good sized.
The halibut is hand breaded panko, small but thick and juicy chunks of goodness and fried in peanut oil. Having worked in the potato industry for many years, I have found that you can’t beat the higher cost of using peanut oil for bringing out the flavor of fried foods. Studies show that most individuals with peanut allergies do tolerate highly refined cooking peanut oil such as the kind used in fryers, but if you are not one of them, best to avoid. The homemade tartar sauce had lots of dill, a nice addition. The shoestring coated and spiced fries (frozen instead of fresh) holds up well to the moistness of the fresh brilliant white inside chunks of halibut. They also do a combo with fried shrimp. They have a very good clam chowder too.
After my first visit, I seek them out on their schedule of locations, or wait till Fridays to drive over to the parking lot at Cherry’s Consignments on Meridian near the downtown for dinner, from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

This super cute food truck showed up in my neighborhood so I had to check it out. I love fish and chips and I love great service. I was not disappointed. The fish chunks are big and meaty and they came with a huge pile of crispy fries. Chunky flavorful house made tartar sauce. Malt vinegar would have been the piece de resistance. Will be visiting again.

Delicious cod with delicious fries. Not greasy..cooked perfectly. The clam chowder was exceptional and a meal on its own. We got 3 orders on fish n chips. Better than ant restaurant fish we’ve had. Nice fire pit put front to keep you warm while you wait for your order.

The lovely couple of Right side of the boat catered our Dad’s 80th birthday party of 35 people. From start to finish they were amazing, super friendly, prompt communication, and DELICIOUS FOOD! This is a late but well deserved review. Overall, I could not have been happier with this meal and the service I was provided. Food trucks are often trendy and decent but few really go over the mid 8 to high 8/10 in quality service and atmosphere. If you want a delicious, juicy and well seasoned fish with some good fries, this is the quintessential fish and chips food truck. The cost to quality/amount of food you receive exceeds that of competitors and you really get the best bang for your buck. Location is probably the only thing that I would say is a negative. It’s a little too far away from the interstate if you’re coming from out of town, but it’s probably 5-10 minutes from the Meridian I-84 on/off ramp. Worth it for sure!
