We had Rico’s cater our wedding this May and OH MY GOODNESS! We did a taco bar with pork, chicken, and fajita vegetables for the main and they were all so delicious, I still have guests messaging me and asking where they can get these tacos. We also did sides of rice, beans, and chips and salsa (they told us the salsa was made fresh and it was SO good). Jose was so kind and easy to work with, they set up the catering during our ceremony and were so quiet and quick about it, I didn’t even notice they had shown up. Please do yourself a favor and have them cater your event. I will 100% finding an excuse to go to Ames to visit them!

I love Rico’s! This is definitely my favorite taco truck in Ames (so far). I eat here often. The food is fresh and delicious, and it comes out so fast! Waiting is no problem because they have a nice shaded area with picnic tables to sit and wait at until your convenient little beeper goes off to let you know that your order is ready! Sometimes, I like to call ahead and place an order to pick up on my way home from work. So convenient!
My favorites so far are the marinated pork tacos and the pineapple tamales

First-time customer visiting Rico’s on Lincoln in Ames iowa. I have actually heard quite a few good reviews from people that I know about Rico’s with one of them being that they won 2023 winner best food… We ordered 3 burritos (dang good, except it lacked flavor…needs more flavor) 2 tacos (good size, kinda expensive for the amount of toppings inside the taco) and some tamales (definitely have had better, I couldn’t taste the jalapenos it said we’re in it). I would like to offer advice for future customers while they’re waiting… not everybody has a vehicle to sit in, maybe a canopy to cover the area in front of the ordering window and topping window? Also, to also assist with shade in the Summer? Maybe play music for those of us waiting and not in a car? All around it was good, however a bit pricey for being so minimalistic…but that salsa IS ON POINT! So dang good

Authentic Mexican Street Tacos! I’m from Texas and was not expecting to find authentic Mexican food like Rico’s this far north. They even have barbacoa and lengua. And all the flavored Jarritos. I’ve only tried the barbacoa street tacos but I’ll definitely be back to taste the rest of their menu. Hidden Gem for sure.
