Rico’s Restaurant is a Pittsburgh staple. It’s been around for over 40 years and has an almost cult following, bringing guests back again and again to experience the classiness of old-fashioned upscale dining. The atmosphere is cozy. When you arrive, valet parking will manage your car. I recommend dressing nicely to accompany the atmosphere of the restaurant.

The food is really good! Don’t expect anything untraditional or experimental, though. The restaurant excels in classic Italian dishes and I highly recommend the Lobster Rubino or Rico’s Famous Angel Hair. The menu does change daily though and there is always a variety of foods to choose from!

In terms of service, you will definitely have a wonderful experience. The staff is very attentive and highly trained. This restaurant is suitable for any group. The bar service is nice as well. Just remember to make a reservation if you’re a large group!

Me and my girlfriends first time here and place is emaculant!! Very friendly staff and not sure if it’s owner or manager greeting you and thanking you when leaving. No doubt we will be back!! Me and my girlfriend are both 100% italian and food is Authentic and delicious. Our meals were very delicious!! I had Veal and sweet peppers and my girlfriend had Linguine and seafood. Stuffed hot peppers are a must try. We had Tiramusi for dessert.

One of our top 15 restaurants in Pittsburgh!

This is the only place we have found in Pittsburgh that does table side Cesar! That alone makes it’s worth it.

In addition to that they have a large excellent Italian menu. All your favorites and well balanced between pasta seafood and meat options. They have an excellent wine selection and well priced as well.

The service and staff is always great along with an outstanding bar for before or after drinks.

The only thing we don’t love about it is the valet parking. We would much rather just get our own car considering it’s such a small parking lot.

Highly recommend the hot pepper appetizer!

5 Stars – All Around Awesome!

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying lunch for the very first time at Rico’s Restaurant, and I can confidently say it deserves a solid 5 stars across the board. This beloved establishment has been a Pittsburgh staple since the 1970s, with a rich history and loyal following. It’s a favorite among locals and has long attracted notable guests including Steelers legend Franco Harris and wrestling icon Bruno Sammartino, both of whom considered Rico’s their favorite go to restaurant.

From the moment we walked in, the ambiance struck the perfect balance between upscale and relaxed. I’d describe it as casual to fine dining, with spacious, elegant rooms that can easily accommodate everything from intimate meals to wedding receptions and large private events. Everything about the interior from the dining areas to the modern, spotless restrooms, was impeccably clean and thoughtfully maintained.

The service was absolutely top notch. Our server Jay, who was also handling the bar, was prompt, personable, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He made our dining experience seamless and enjoyable.

Now for the real highlight: the food. Every dish we tried was excellent. Our entrées included:

• Walleye Pike Belle Meunière topped with crab meat and served with a lemon leek sauce, a side of green beans and marinara and a cup of their asparagus and fontinella cheese soup

• Broiled Salmon Piccata with lemon caper sauce and sautéed spinach

• Broiled Virginia Spots, a simple but perfectly prepared classic

Each entrée was flavorful, well executed, and beautifully presented. We also had fresh salads with their house made Italian dressing, which was so good I genuinely wish I could have taken a bottle home.

To finish off the meal, I had a slice of their coconut cream pie, which was the perfect sweet ending, light, creamy, and delicious.

Everything from start to finish was outstanding, and I honestly just wish I lived closer because I’d be a regular here. If you’re in the Pittsburgh area and looking for excellent Italian cuisine or simply an exceptional dining experience, Rico’s Restaurant is an absolute must.

5 stars, without hesitation. Truly all around awesome!

I’ve always heard awesome things about Rico’s – finally had a chance to try it out. The parking is valet only. The scenery was nice, the large windows and fall foliage creates a nice atmosphere. My spouse and I had a limited window of time to enjoy our meal as we were heading to a show at Heinz Hall so we didn’t have time for appetizers or dessert. Our waitress started out very friendly but when she identified that we weren’t ordering alcohol, appetizers or extra things outside our meals the service immediately declined. The food was excellent, we both got pasta dishes that were incredible and that’s the main reason we’d consider going back. As the meal progressed we watched our server take care of all other tables very fondly and we didn’t even get water glasses refilled or asked if we wanted dessert or anything else. We still had a decently priced meal and left a nice tip but i’d prepare for very mediocre service if you aren’t looking to have an over the top meal.

We recently hosted my mother’s retirement party at Rico’s, and it was absolutely phenomenal! From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. The private party room was incredibly nice, providing the perfect atmosphere for our celebration. The food was nothing short of amazing, every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared.

The service was outstanding. David, Red, and Brian went above and beyond to make sure everyone was taken care of, and their attentiveness and hospitality truly made the evening special. My entire family was thrilled, and our friends were thoroughly impressed.

If you’re looking for a fantastic place to host an event or just enjoy an incredible meal, Rico’s is the place to go. I can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!

If you are looking for good quality and tasty Italian food with rude wait staff this is your spot. I have to leave an honest review and highlight that we did enjoy all the food we ordered. However, from the start our waiter was extremely rude. A level of rudeness I have not seen experienced before, especially in Pitt. I actually suggested that we leave the restaurant. But we waited it out and tried not to interact with our waiter (strange right!?) Truly made the experience unenjoyable. Not family friendly. Wouldn’t go back

Came for the first time today as we moved right down the street. We were so pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. The restaurant gives off a very elegant vibe but the staff is warm and friendly. The manager was very involved and hands-on, always checking in and circling visiting tables. The filet is genuinely the most tender steak I’ve ever had. The scallop appetizer was also fantastic. The literal only critique I could make is that there is a $2 up charge for an extra sear on the steak, which is a bit bizarre. However otherwise I felt the menu prices were on par with the quality. We’ll definitely be back.

My favorite place to eat! The food is incredible every time — some of my favorites include: the stuffed shrimp, Rico’s angel hair, fried zucchini, and the Roquefort filet. The service is always wonderful, they treat women with such respect and care, and the ambiance is warm and inviting. Great wines and an amazing table-side Caesar salad make it even better. Truly the best Italian and steak spot around!

I started my night in the bar area while waiting for my table. I ordered the Lemon Drop Martini and it was the perfect thing to start my night. The bar was super busy but the bartenders were very attentive and even asked to take pictures of me and my friends as we were going out for Valentines Day. I had never been here before but it’s my boyfriends favorite restaurant so I told him make the reservations and let’s try it. Upon driving up to the restaurant you are met with a valet then when you walk in there is a maiter d’ and a coat checker. It’s more upscale so do be prepared for that when you go.

As as appetizer we ordered the Fried Zuchinni…. let me tell you something…. this by far the BEST Fried Zuchinni I have ever tried in my life! I would come again and again just to order that. It’s lightly breaded with the best seasoning and my friends loved it just as much! I got the Filet for dinner and was so happy that it was cooked perfect with it being medium rare not at kitchens cook the meat correctly and I have to send it back quite often. The Asparagus that was paired with the Filet was AMAZING! The garlic and butter used was phenomenal. I just can’t get over how great this place was overall.

If you want an upscale restaurant that’s been around forever check this place out. It’s so good and the staff is so friendly that it’s worth it!
