Stopped by Ricky’s on Sumas for breakfast and overall, it was a great experience. If you’re looking for a classic, filling morning meal, this is definitely the spot.
The Highlights
• The Food: The breakfast was excellent. The eggs were seasoned perfectly, the bacon was crisp, and the pancakes were fluffy (the butter-to-pancake ratio was spot on). Everything came out hot and fresh.
• The Service: I was impressed by how fast the service was. Even with a full plate like this, the kitchen and staff moved quickly without making the meal feel rushed.
The Downside
• The Coffee: The only real letdown was the coffee. It tasted quite bitter and burnt, which was a shame because a good cup of joe is the natural partner to a big breakfast like this.

I like going to this Ricky’s location. The interior has a unique design palette that represents both Ricky’s Cafe and Famoso Pizzeria. I had the Chorizo & Eggs Crepes, which were thick and fluffy and had gooey cheese. They were served with red potato hashbrowns. I enjoyed their coffee as well. I also had their Tuscan Forno Chicken pizza and it was good. The toppings were delectable and the crust tastes authentic, though a little thin. The workers were admirable with their professions and saw no problem to point out. I really enjoy coming to this Ricky’s location for their standout choices and I would check it out if you are in the Sumas area.

Honestly, this place saved my Tuesday. I was exhausted and just wanted a decent meal without the hassle. The ordering was seamless, and my food was actually ready right when I walked in—no awkward waiting around. Everything tasted fresh, hit the spot, and they even remembered the extra napkins. We came here for a little family dinner night. We don’t go out often with the little kids and we figured this would be a great place to try. We were the only ones in there for quite sometime and the staff were on top of it. They were so friendly and happy to help us. We placed our orders and they brought the kids meals first which was AMAZING because they were getting squirmy. The pizza was good and the pasta was nice. The only thing that made this place lose a star was the food… it’s just whatever. Nothing to write home about or rave about. It tasted fine, kinda on the expensive side but we left with full bellies.
Overall the staff were amazing and the food was mediocre.

Ordered takeout for the first time and was seriously impressed. The food arrived hot, fresh, and well-packaged (no leaks!). Portion sizes were generous and the flavors were spot on. This is definitely going into our regular rotation!

We were charged extra for ice tea. There was no charge mentioned on the menu. What else are they charging people extra on. The meatballs were pale, the sauce runny, and they were bland. Definition not how they are supposed to be. They were pre made in the morning and sitting in watery sauce all day. This is what the manager said. We will not be going back. I don’t trust a place that charges extra for things and are not upfront about it.

We went around 5:30pm with a sizeable group. The restaurant was empty. Some takeout orders came through while we ate, but only one other group came in the entire time we were there. Service and food weren’t much to speak about. One of the staff members didn’t seem to really want to be there. They missed a lot of cues while helping us, which didn’t exactly scream great service. The food was ok. I wouldn’t say it was better than ok.

Wife ordered the califrsco salad barely any quinoa and chicken came from a bag. I ordered meat loaf mash potatoes where instant and watery, veg was from frozen and mushy, and meat loaf was tiny and tasteless. Only thing that was goo was the beer. They had signs for schnitzel fest 2025 and it’s 2026 and valentines signs up and it’s the end of February. Never coming back. Staff where friendly though

Been a Ricky’s customer for 25 years, and this location doesn’t disappoint! Delicious food, cozy atmosphere that isn’t chaotic like the Marshall Rd location, and super friendly staff.
Highly recommend the Two By Five, but the Breakfast Bowls are a hidden gem. Good portions too! (Two By Five pictured).
