This small little cajun restaurant is not much to look at on the outside. But dont let that deter you. The food is amazing & The service is even better.
The tea was just right, and the salad was so fresh. I must say the best I’ve had is a while.
It’s definitely a must try if you haven’t.

Was referred here by a friend, this was a business lunch. Ordered the liver smothered in onions and brown gravy, purple hull peas, and mustard greens. The liver was really popular, after placing my order, the cook told the waitress there was one serving left. The liver was really tender and well seasoned, the mustard greens were not over salted, and the peas were cooked to a super soft state. I definitely would not call this place upscale, but it has an inviting atmosphere to sit and enjoy one’s meal. Table spacing is enough to allow normal voice conversations and close enough to converse with nearby patrons. Stop by for lunch one Wednesday and enjoy some delicious liver. Remember to get there a little before 12.

I remembered this place from years ago. This place was a hole in the wall and the food is exceptional! I still tell my friends about it. It was so good I have had dreams about their gumbo and boudain ever since I ate there. Bringing my best friend there tomorrow, I can’t wait.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️½ Food | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service
Richards Boudin & Seafood – Sulphur, LA

We stopped in to try the gumbo, but it was the boudin balls that really stole the show — crispy, flavorful, and absolutely unforgettable.

The food overall was a solid 4.5 stars – gumbo lacked okra, sausage and a kick, but the service was a perfect 5.

A young lady greeted us as if we were guests in her own home, not just customers walking into a restaurant. That genuine Southern hospitality made the whole experience even better.

We enjoyed everything so much that we picked up three pounds of boudin to take home for the weekend.

If you’re anywhere near Sulphur, this spot is worth the stop — great food, warm service, and authentic Louisiana flavor done right.

We stopped by this place on a Saturday for lunch and it was certainly worth it. There is plenty of parking, and it was easy to find. The place was clean and quaint and the staff were friendly. We ordered our food and it was prepared and plated quickly. We enjoyed our conversation with the server, and she was very sweet. We will be back.

This was my first time eating at Richards, and I will say I was impressed. I got a plate to share and wish I had my own. The meal was cooked to order. Everything was nice and hot except the lb of Boudin. It was cold. I don’t know if I was supposed to warm it up, but I ate it. I had the catfish and two sides I chose were the French fries and 1 Boudin Ball. I added two pieces of French toast that were nice and buttery, which complimented my fish/fries. I like their tartar sauce as well. It is not chunky but creamy. I had a pound of Boudin for 6.49. It was good but probably would have tasted even better warmed up. The young lady behind the cash register was nice and friendly. The place looks cozy and family oriented. 8.5/10 highly recommend. I will be back to try other menu items if I am in the area. Richard’s have an everyday lunch menu. Go check it out. 🙂

Tried this place on a recommendation. Good food, friendly staff. Will return! We’ve been looking for a local place that has a seafood boil bag special year round even without crawfish. This place has one! Shrimp and crab boil. Also serve beer. Prices were right. We tried chicken fried steak sandwich, bacon burger, sampler appetizer, and boiled shrimp. All was good!

We were driving through the area and placed a to go order. Beware that the prices aren’t anything like what is on their website ($20 more). We were told to look on Facebook not their website. Also, the kids chicken strips are little bites and the fries were hard and cold. The oysters had a weird taste to them and the alligator was tougher than we are used to. The okra was bland. I would not recommend and honestly was disappointed we chose this place to stop at.
