If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. My mom and I decided to stop here for the first (and LAST) time because it looked like a small family-owned business, and we actually felt bad since it was so empty. Big mistake.
The moment we walked up, we greeted the old man working, and he completely ignored us and slammed the window shut in our faces. We thought, “Okay, maybe he didn’t hear us?” so we waited. TWO minutes later, he finally opened the window, acting annoyed, and asked what we wanted. We placed our order, nothing crazy, just ice cream. When it came time to pay, we handed him a card for a NINE dollar purchase. And then he had the nerve to ask for an ID.
Excuse me? An ID for a $9 charge? This wasn’t about the card. This was about the way we looked. We were being racially profiled and treated like criminals for no reason. The disrespect was loud and clear.
We came in with good intentions, wanting to support a small business, and instead we got ignored, humiliated, and targeted. If this is how they treat paying customers with suspicion, hostility, and flat-out discrimination — then it’s no wonder the place was empty.
Save yourself the time and energy. Don’t support a business that thinks profiling people is okay. Absolutely disgusting.
and from reading all the reviews they only card blacks and mexicans! absolutely ridiculous!

I got a turtle. It was really delicious on a hot night. Really nice owner. dish them out. It was great having some ice cream and sitting back and taking it easy. Went to a lot of ice cream joints while I was visiting, and this was my favorite.

We ate our way down Route 66 starting in Chicago and ending in St. Louis. Wife loves malts. She had like four on the trip. She said it was the best malt on the trip. I had a chocolate shake. It was good.

Told about this by a local. A little out of the way but worth it. Small ice cream shop with quite an assortment. Walk up and order with a nice gentleman helping us out. I had the turtle sundae and my husband had a banana split. Amazing.

Rich and Creamy ice cream was very good! There were many different options that all sounded good. I ordered the root beer float and it was excellent! The only downside is the location, it is on a main road which creates loud traffic. I recommend coming here for an ice cream snack any time of the day?

Starting our 1st Route 66 Trip and Joliet has always felt like home.. people are friendly.
This ice cream stop is decent, my wife had a vanilla cone dipped in chocolate. I ordered a Vanilla shake, it wasn’t the best it was literally just vanilla ice cream in a cup.

Its fine. The ice cream is fine. The toppings are fine. The sundae is really just ice cream with a topping. Without whipped cream and a cherry, is it still a sundae?

Stopped by from out of town. Ice cream was yummy. The baby cone was the smallest cone I’ve ever seen(the palm of my hand small). We were surprised to see the size. We wish we had known the difference a head of time. A sample in the window would be my suggestion. The staff was not the friendliest..my guess was that they were the owner so they didn’t care how they treated their customers. Seems like a popular spot nonetheless. Area around it is run down and needs a uplift. Signage and statues were broken and/or sun damaged.

A great little ice cream shop on Route 66. I had a $3.50 medium Twist cone. If you can’t choose between vanilla or chocolate, then get the Twist!
