This was my first time here. The atmosphere is great, like being in New York. The owner provides excellent service and is very attentive to customers. The food is delicious and different from another Thai restaurants. I highly recommend the Jo’s fried chicken with rice and the brisket fried rice. the brisket was incredibly tender. I’ll definitely come back again.

First time this restaurant is beautifully decorated, clean, and well organized, with a unique Rice & Oak concept that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. There is bar seating available, which adds a nice touch and makes the dining experience even more enjoyable. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, and every dish I tried was absolutely delicious.

My favorite dish is the Crab Fried Rice. It has an authentic Thai flavor, perfectly seasoned, very aromatic, and generously topped with high-quality, fresh crab meat. It is honestly one of the best crab fried rice.Another highly recommended dish is the Brisket Rice bowl. The rice is fragrant and fluffy, the brisket is incredibly tender, and the sauce pairs perfectly with the dish. Every bite was rich and satisfying.

For dessert, I truly enjoyed the Coconut Bua Loy. The texture is soft and chewy, the coconut milk is fragrant, and the sweetness is just right. It is a perfect way to end the meal.

The owner is very friendly and welcoming, and you can clearly see the care and passion put into every step of the cooking process. The attention to detail in both the food and customer service really makes this place stand out.

This is a restaurant I highly recommend, and I will definitely be coming back again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

An intimate dining experience with super fresh and flavorful plates!! I got the Jo’s chicken bowl and it was by far the best Thai food I’ve had. Although we got there right at prime dinner hours, they were able to seat us quickly! I highly recommend supporting this local restaurant, be patient as they don’t have many tables. The wait is worth it I promise.

Delicious food!! We waited almost an hour, but worth every bite! The kids licked their plates. The kids fried rice with fried chicken was delicious. We got the crab fried rice and chicken pad thai. Both, amazing. Crab fried rice has a healthy portion of delicious crab. The coconut shrimp comes with fried green beans as well and the dipping sauce is to die for. We thought the prices were very reasonable. Everything was so, so good. Thrilled to have this place in Dripping. I can’t wait till they do takeout as well.

Absolutely delicious! I had the pork pad ew and it was full of amazing flavors. The pork was yummy and so was the brisket that I tried. The staff was also very friendly. It’s a small space, so seating is limited.

As a southeast Asian, I’m usually skeptical when it comes to fusion spots and Thai restaurants. This brisket bowl was unreal! The flavors were so balanced and the brisket was very juicy. It tasted like a brisket laab with the sauce and herbs and that’s a compliment! Compliments to the chef for flavor and the creativity!

Finally a place in Dripping that is not a sandwich/burger/fast food joint. We need more places like this here. Portions are generous and it’s reasonably priced. The coconut shrimp appetizer was great. They didn’t have the sticky rice dessert, but I’ll be coming back to try it. I hope they stay in business!

Placed a to-go order for 3 crispy tofu bowls. Maybe their portion sizes are bigger if you dine in, because ours were on the smaller side. The bowls came with very little broth/dressing so they were pretty dry. Flavor was okay but lacking. Really bummed that, as a Thai restaurant, they didn’t have mango sticky rice and the waitress didn’t even know what that was. All in all, probably wont be back unless they add more variety, flavor, and larger portions to the menu

Rice and Oak has quickly become our favorite Thai restaurant in all of Austin – and that’s saying a lot. As Dripping Springs locals, we’ve waited a long time for food like this on the west side of town, and Rice and Oak is absolutely worth the drive from Austin if you don’t already live nearby.

The food is outstanding across the board. The tom kha soup is hands-down the best we’ve had anywhere; rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced. We love the Texas fusion touches like the brisket fried rice and brisket pad Thai, which somehow manage to feel both creative and deeply respectful of Thai flavors. The smoked edamame is a favorite of our littles. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and we’d honestly still come even if they weren’t.

We also really appreciate the number of gluten-free options, which is important for our family and not always easy to find done this well.

What truly sets Rice and Oak apart, though, is the heart behind it. It’s incredibly family-friendly, and the owners are genuinely kind. On our most recent visit, one of the owners took a moment to help our two-year-old practice saying “hello” and “thank you” in Thai – a small gesture, but such a sweet and memorable moment for us.

Rice and Oak is a huge win for Dripping Springs and easily one of the best Thai meals you can get anywhere in the Austin area.
